Where the hell do people find the energy for this stuff?

I know I’m sounding like an old man ready to die at the ripe old age of 37, but these things exists and the old coot in me won’t let me ignore it.

And I’m not talking about well researched 8 hour deep dives. I’m talking about a few people sitting around a table with some general topics and just talking for 8+ hours.

Recording one of these things sounds like hell to me and even listening to them in chunks can be an ordeal.

I was talking about this with someone the other day. I'm too scattered brain to do anything close to this. I'm very much in the do something for a little bit then do something else life style.

I have so many unfinished/works in progress.

think the longest I've streamed on twitch was just over 4 hours (started to get back pain at that point as I was sat on a sofa to stream from as I stream from a console & tv.) but have seen people stream there for over 12 hours continuously and they usually look shattered by the end both physically and mentally.

podcasts can be recorded in smaller parts and edited together so there isn't an obvious break but still must hurt like hell doing it.

I do YouTube videos for a living--even doing a 15 minute video annoys me and makes my throat sore.

I have no idea how someone can do it for even an hour long.

I’ve never uploaded anything to YouTube for profit, but even some otherwise entertaining YouTubers have a problem with long video. And by long I’m not referring to the thread title, but like 10 minutes long. I don’t know the stats or how exactly it effects the income streams, but I’ve read that you can make a lot more with a 10 minute video than a 5 minute video. Cue countless YouTubers very obviously padding their videos out.

When I go back and listen to all of my notes on patients so I can do charts I get annoyed…can’t imagine listening to some random talk for 8 hours…

I havent recorded for 8 hours at a time but I have put together videos that were longer than usual. Then again when I record or stream gameplay I usually let the game play do the talking.

There's a guy on YouTube who does like 10 hour discussions about Star Wars.

For their 10 th anniversary Comedy Bang Bang did a 10 hour long episode. But they had many guests, some doing multiple characters so it never got old.

I believe the ad revenue increases with 8 minutes, 10 minutes, 12 minutes etc upwards.

So yeah, unfortunately many YouTuber's pad their videos with fluff and flumpf to reach that 10 minute mark. I don't do it unless my video is on, say 9.20, then I think f*** it, I might as well add some fluff and flumpf to reach the 10 mark.

But I don't do what some YouTuber's do of repeating stuff and adding filler and garbage to turn a 3 minute video into 10 minutes.

It's Star Wars... so I definitely envisioning 75% of the videos are him ranting about it being woke.
