Made it to the Historical Society and still really enjoying the game on the whole but maaaaan I kind of actively want them to patch out like half the enemies. At a point the Nurses, Lying Figures, and Mannequins stop being scary and just start being annoying, and the game's well past that point by now. Either have less of them or make them less tanky. I am what I assume to be about 80% of the way through my first playthrough, and I feel like I'm definitely gonna get the In Water ending because James's constantly on red health for me because I can never avoid taking at least one hit from the freaking mannequins. If I play through again, I will probably put the combat on easy and see if that feels a little better. Absolute 10/10 experience though. As someone who played through the original SH2 at least a dozen times as a teenager, this might be an even better experience so far. It's the best "remake" I've played.

I am hoping for some rebalancing too. But on my second playthrough I've been playing around with the systems more. I've found that you can pretty much ignore most monsters on the streets and just opt to fight if they immediately get in your face as you're trying to do something. The most annoying I've been is rooms where they just sick 3-4 enemies on you and that one bit in the hospital where each room has a hiding mannequin. But my experience has improved, this is also me doing a no guns or radio run, let's hope it stays this way through the post hospital.

If it helps you have to examine the knife to get the In Water ending apparently so you should still get Leave regardless.

Replayed the prison last night and it was much better when you ignore the spider mannequins for the most part, only attacking when they're attacking you or just right in front of you. Still the weakest location if only because it's the most straight forward, but still a solid location overall.
