I'm talking about the movie "Monster" with Christini Ricci and Charlize Theron... It just came on IFC and I've never seen it... anybody here ever watched it. Is it worth the 2 hours i"m about to invest? I've heard it's decent, but am interested in the crappers opinions.

It's pretty good as it's based on the female serial killer... The name escapes me. Some of the stuff is of course Hollywood, but it's not bad. You could do worse. Edit: Aileen Wuornos was her name. Here's an article about her: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aileen_Wuornos

Look how ugly Charlize Theron was made in that movie and I think it was a shame the makeup person didnt win an Academy Award for that.
Seriously, it turned her from drop dead gorgeous to coyote ugly.

Yeah, that's where Hollywood steps in.
Wuornos's real girlfriend was not a looker. I dare say that she was less appealing than Wuorno herself.

Charlize Theron is one of those actors that has really risen her game over the last 5 years or so.
I remember seeing her in 'The Devils Advocate' and 'The Astronaut's Wife' and she was just awful in those films. Her acting style in both those films (which in both she was nervous about her husband) she acts like she has trouble digesting some bad take away food.
And now she is good.

Verdict: Great movie. Glad I watched it. My only complaint was that the last 30 minutes it seemed liked they rushed to get everything in. But still, I'd recommend it.

Great flick. Plus you get to see Christina Ricci in some HLA. You can't beat that. Well you could if we did a topless scene.
But in reality, Wuornos's girlfriend was never that hawt.

I agree on the rushing of the ending. Especially after the slow start.

DAMN You think that's ugly, you should have seen her when she won the Oscar. Way too much fake tan spray...made her look like an Oompa Loompa.
