Any WVU/Rutgers fans here having a series of heart attacks? I'm not either, but it's a darn fine game.

That was a good game. I don't like the forces 2 pt. conversions in OT. I'd rather they let the coaches decide and so it means more.

I hope Rutgers stays in the top 25. It would be a crime if they were bumped for some crap big conference team.

Ya know, I know it's not gonna happen. But Boise State is undefeated. They literally could not have a better season than they've had so far.
Hey, why not?

Oklahoma beats Nebraska 21-7 to win the Big 12. Thank God I didn't take my dad up on that bet. Oklahoma should really get some talk about getting the shot at Ohio State. If there wasn't that blown call against Oregon than they would have one loss and probably be in the game. They have all the right in the world to be pissed of right now.

Ya know, I know it's not gonna happen. But Boise State is undefeated. They literally could not have a better season than they've had so far. Hey, why not? Well, if they ever played good out of conference teams, than maybe. And there's an answer to the whole conference champs debate, a FREAKIN PLAYOFF! Then the best teams play the best teams. I've been trying to work out a 16 team playoff, which would account for all the D-I conferences. The conferences with a title game play their championship in the first round so that they can crown a champ. The remaining conf. champs are ranked and played out in the NFL system (worst against first and so forth). Then the next week the 8 remaining teams are matched again worst against first and so forth. We then take the 2 weeks off. The remaining 4 teams will play in two of the major bowls for a shot at the national title. This also allows the other 12 teams to be placed in bowl games, as well as keep all of the other bowls so no one loses money. Then there's a national title game. The only hangups are somehow starting the season earlier, since the conference titles would have to be decided by the end of november as to not run into finals. And second, and probably more important, the independents have to be gotten rid of. Temple wouldn't be hard. Put them either in the Big East or just remove their D-I rank. Army and Navy I'm unsure of the technicalities there, but I'm sure it can be worked out that they play in a conference, maybe the Big East. The hard one is Notre Dame, which will steadfastly refuse any and all pushes for them to join a conference. The only solution is for the NCAA to tell them "Join a conference or never play for a national title" which might be the only way to convince them.

EMB, just a quick note: Temple is going to the MAC fully starting next year.
I should know, I'm going to a MAC school (University of Toledo).

Really, it's just Notre Dame that throws my plan off, since, really, Army and Navy will never have a national power team again. It just won't happen.

Hmm...... since the Big Ten is considered the Big Televen, why not change the Big 12 to the Big Twirteen? Or in short: Notre Dame to the Big 12?

That ain't gonna work Imagine if Troy(The Sun Belt Champion) played Ohio State(Big 10 Champ). Speaking of football Hawaii and Oregon State are playing on ESPN right now and its a damn good game(tied at 21 entering the 3rd Quarter)

That ain't gonna work Imagine if Troy(The Sun Belt Champion) played Ohio State(Big 10 Champ). Speaking of football Hawaii and Oregon State are playing on ESPN right now and its a damn good game(tied at 21 entering the 3rd Quarter) But the fact is they won their conference. The only way the playing field would be balanced if every conference champ has a shot at the national title, not just 5 (Face it, it would take a miracle for a Big East team to play for a title). Sure for the first few years the big conferences would crush small ones, but hopefully it would begin to balance out and we would see some more competition. As well, look at the NCAA Basketball tourney. It's rare to see a low ranked team even get to the elite 8, so the good teams still make it. You just weed out the teams that don't want it enough. Again, look to the NFL, especially this season. The top teams in the NFC right now: Bears, Cowboys until Romo falls off, Maybe Seattle, MAYBE New Orleans. Thats it. Two of the division champs will go to the playoffs even though they are mediocre. AFC Top teams: New England, Baltimore, Indianapolis, Denver, Kansas City, San Diego, Maybe Cinncinatti. The top 5 here easily outclass the NFC's best and are probably better than Chicago. But there's still a chance we could see a Indy/New Orleans or San Diego/Carolina or a Baltimore/NY Giants SubparBowl (pun intended). Is it likely? No, but it would at least be settled on the field. Upsets happen. Ugly blowouts happen. But let's actually give them a chance instead of babying these school and ego stroke by keeping some schools down and give some others a chance for once.

I would just like to take this time to express my joy over USC losing. It was so beautiful. I was kinda torn on this game. I loathe USC, so it was great watching them lose. (I'm still waiting for Carrol to get fired since he hasn't won a title in 2 years) And on the other hand, I was kinda hoping they'dwin so the Buckeyes could have beat them. I love living in an area thats big football fans. I work at Circuit City, and at the end of that game, over half the store was back in the big screen area watching the game.
