I'm glad its Florida. Granted it would have been nice beating Michigan 2X in one year, I'd rather us play somebody differant. OK, I haven't seen any Florida games this year, but from what I've heard, they're really not that great. Can anyone tell me if they really are that good? (I know, they're the #2 team in the country before someone says it )

Actually, if you are looking at style points.....they dont win big. But neither did the New England Patriots and they won how many super bowls during the Tom Brady era. Look, the SEC was obviously the superior conference in that you had to deal with almost every good team imaginable and no conference game can be taken lightly. I couldnt say the same for the Big Ten this year.

and there's the issue of whether they looked bad because they're subpar, or they're playing really good team constantly.

Papajohns.com Bowl (Dec. 23)ECU vs. USF And that's all that matters. I hate bowl games just a bunch of consolation games. So if you win the Rose bowl are you king of all roses?

Just got back from the greatest in college football traditions, tearing down goalposts. We (Appalachian State) won our Nat'l Semifinal game over Youngstown State 49-24, so we rushed the field, torn down the goalpost and threw them into the duck pond. We do it every year in our biggest home win. It was awesome.
If anyone is wondering, I sat near the giant polar bear.

(sad that Sam Houston State didn't give a good showing this season. Although I think Rhett Bomar will be their starter next year)
And Blinn College won the JUCO national championship. Blinn is coached by Texas A&M Coach Dennis Franchione's son, Brad.

I just hope that Michigan beats USC and Ohio State beats the crap out of Florida to make Urban Meyers whinny politics look like the load of crap that it is. As the son of a Michigan alum and a Big 10 fan I would have much rather seen the OSU-UM rematch. I think OSU would have won again but on principal I don't get the whole "Michigan had their chance and blew it" They played the #1 team in the nation on the road and lost by 3 points. After doing so they were still good enough to be # 2 but then some how by not playing they managed to be jumped by Florida who was something like 150 points below them. My theory is , and sorry to any Floridan SEC fans out there (except Arkansas, go Badgers!) is that the BCS wanted a Big 10/Pac 10 Championship game with the winner of OSU/UM taking on USC. But because USC was coming of a recent loss and weeks of bad play the voters decided not to move them ahead of Michigan until they had a big win against Notre Dame. They won and were moved ahead. Sadly UCLA had to ruin the plan for the BCS and thus Florida was the only option left other than a rematch. So there ya have it.

Who the hell were the 13 idiots that voted Brady Quinn first on their Heisman ballots? I can understand voting for McFadden who had great games in a loss but, Quinn look horrible in the losses and in some of the wins.
And to milkmannorm, I agree completely. I am a Michigan fan so I may be a bit bias but, I have yet to hear any explanation for Florida over Michigan except for them being conference champs but, Oklahoma should have had one loss and is conference champ, Louisville is a one loss conference champ and Boise State went undefeated yet all get no love.

When I went to school (at Purdue) we once tore down one of the goalposts, paraded it through campus, and threw it off of a bridge into the Wabash River.

I'm officially going to be at the FCS National Championship this Friday. I got some okay seats so if anyone tries to look for me, look for the huge black flag on the home side with an "A" on it. ESPN2, 8 pm.
I wouldn't miss it for the world.

And congrats to Appalachian State for winning the Division I-AA title.
