I noted that too, as I rewatched the second movie. Haven't seen 3 yet. Will see it soon, though.
And yeah, I don't expect the comics when I go to the movies. All I expect is a good story. If I've gotta wait through ten years of lousy comic book stories in order to get to the characters and situations that actually interest me (which is what would happen if they exactly followed the X-Men comics, from #1 on through), odds are I'm not gonna be that patient. And if the films don't make bank, then I'll never see those situations and characters on film anyway.

I enjoyed it. I thought it was better than spidey 2. The best movie I seen so far this year.

I think The Sinsister 6 should be the Villains in spidey 4 or at least Mysterio.
I thought Bryce Dallas Howard was f***ing HOT (Way better than Dunst)

I just saw it this afternoon with a friend in the UK. I have to say I was a little dissapointed, for the villians in the film there just wasn't enough action. I know Spider-Man is more of a story based comic movie but with Venom and Sandman in one picture it left me wanting more. Also with Venom there just simply wasn't enough screen time for him, who is THE Spider-man villian. Overall though was a good film, not without its flaws but what doesn't have them.
BTW does anything happen after the credits? I had to leave as my friend refused to listen to Snow Patrol?

I thought Bryce Dallas Howard was f***ing HOT (Way better than Dunst) I think they should do that for 6 if it makes it that far. It'd make the most sense to introduce enemies like Scorpion, Rhino, Vulture, Kraven the Hunter, and Mysterio in 4 and 5, and then, by part 5, bring back Norman/Goblin and Doc Ock and have them form the core of the 6 for the sixth movie. And then, if possible, try to start sneaking some more Marvel heroes into the fight against the 6. Imagine them getting the better of Spider Man, they're about to finally kill him, and then this comes flying throught the Sinister Six:

Good film. My expierence was somewhat ruined by the people talking in the back, I swear everytime something serious hapened someone laughed. Kirsten Dunst is a terrible actor, the audience cheered when Spidey hit her. Flint Marco was great , his acting brilliant and i enjoyed how they humanised Sandman. Venom was really underutilezed and should have had a bigger role.

Also Dunst is hideous in all meanings of the word.

to be honest Tobey Macguire, although perfectly cast in the role, just comes across as whiney ESPECIALLY if MJ is involved
I know this is what happens in the comics ut the whole "I can't love you because of who I am and people will come after you to get to me" crap was annoying, its like she'd be a weakness to you regardless, just be with her and get it over with.
I think they had to have Venom in it this way, you have to have a villian for spidey to fight while hes got the black costume
if anything Harry's involvement seemed more shoehorned than Venoms, if you just had him knowing of the green goblin stuff and being tempted to use it n stuff as opposed to actually using it, then it woulda seemed less cluttered

It was pretty good. Thomas Hayden Church was obviously the standout actor and given more screen time would have easily been the best Spiderman villain captured on screen (which is saying alot, considering Willem Dafoe and Alfred Molina also did excellent). The whole Venom thing could have been handled a little better, but I guess I'm willing to overlook it. And I'm with everybody else about how it got kind of weird in the middle and turned into "The Mask." Overall most people will be satisfied.
And yeah...Gwen is HOT.

I don't mind Kirsten Dunst. Granted, she's not what I look for in a Mary Jane-type character (I was thinking more along the lines of Nikki Cox), but she's alright.

I actually feel sorry for Kirsten Dunst. She doesn't have much to do in these films except get kidnapped for the big action finale.
Then again, there's nothing worse than when Hollywood turns a damsel in distress into an ass-kicking badass in the sequel. (See Keira Knightley in the awful POTC2)
