Well....... it was decent enough. There were a lot of parts where the theatre was laughing at Spiderman for how pathetic he was coming across. I swear at one part during the movie, I felt I was watching The Mask instead of Spiderman........... so, at 2 and a half hours of a movie, was the action worth seeing an hour of Peter Parker crying? Yes...... the action parts were amazing, just insane craziness, great stuff. Everything non-action though.... BLEH! Spiderman was acting like such a little bitch, but still, go see it.... action was great, rest was shit

They should just let us say the b-word on these boards.
"Complain and/or rude female" is too cumbersome.

This isn't the first negative review I heard about the movie. Raimi has a lot of work to do if he's serious about three more films.

I liked it, but I definitely agree about the Mask reference

It breaks my heart thinking about what the Mask became. The first three Arcudi/Mahnke Paperbacks on Dark Horse are incredible.

There was too much Venom and it was all rushed it. It really felt like Raimi was going "Ya know, fanboys wont leave me be until I put Venom in, well, they get there wish, but this movie is about Sandman, Pete, and Harry"
They could have gotten rid of Venom all together and the film would have flowed so much better. And the fact that Sandman's special effects outclassed Venom's really hurt.
I did love Topher as Brock though.
Over all i really liked it, but it felt so condensed too much in too little time.

I got back from a screening a while ago. It was okay. Nothing really that spectacular about it.
Bruce Campbell stole his scene, imo.

So long story short, it's what we all feared: It ended up like X-Men 3???

I liked X-Men 3... but then again, I'm not too picky.
Just so long as it doesn't wind up like one of these comic book-based movies I'm fine: Spawn, Batman and Robin (especially this one!), Fantastic Four, Incredible Hulk

One word can describe this movie for true comic book fans - AWFUL.
Sam Raimi is a complete and utter hack. When a director makes a film like this, the goal should be to appeal to the fans, not your own idiotic idea of what a character should be. NO ONE wanted Sandman in this movie. Harry should have been the main villain, seeing how he was built up for the past two movies. But no, Raimi has to cater to his own little world.
Secondly, Venom. We get it, the director of the Evil Dead series hates the space alien that takes over a human host and eats brains - go figure. This asshole hates a well loved character, so he intentionally ruins him on film and cackles in the fans' faces.
f*** you, Sam Raimi. Thanks for giving Spider-Man fans their very own 'Batman & Robin'.

Just saw it myself and I can honestly say it was pretty decent. As one poster said before, there was not enough Venom. At least it makes up for the last line that killed the 2nd film for me...."Thank you Mary Jane Watson" God, that gets on my friggin nerves!

Yeah....now that I have had a few hours to think about it.....the more pissed off I am.
They better be bringing back Venom as the main villian next time, if there is one.

Was bored out of my mind during Impact, so left the house early sat around at Taco Bell reading for like an hour then went to pick up a friend to check out a midnight showing. Won't give to much away, since the topic title reads 'no spoilers', but the movie for the most part was very awful. James Franco was solid in it, but he has the talent to stand-out in garbage. Thomas Hayden Church, despite not being shown for very long, was very decent, but like mentioned, wasn't focused on enough. Venom shouldn't have spoke. The words which most of the characters spoke were just weak and were delivered VERY poorly. Sure, in a movie like this, it's not about that, it's about the pretty special defects, which looked splendid...but that's all it had going for it. Well, special defects and Franco. Everything else just came off seeming like a big pile of steaming cow crap. One slight spoiler, from my experience: The scene where Peter slaps down Mary Jane, I clapped for it. And these two girls screamed out 'Why are you clapping!?' My friend and I just laughed. This definitely should be a closing of this 'franchise'.
