What follows are the results of the Wrestlecrap: Favorite Movies nomination thread. In total, I received 35 lists of your Top 25 Favorite Movies. There ended up being 443 different movies that were voted for. Some movies suprised me, and others shocked me. I will be posting some trivia as we go along, such as which Stars Wars movie got the lowest amount of votes (one of the six actually didn't receive ANY votes until the second to last ballot); what sequels outranked the originals; and which movie showed up on the MOST ballots? #4947 Points (5 Way Tie)Transformers: The MovieReleased August 8, 1986The story takes place 20 years subsequent to events of the TV series' second season and serves to bridge into the third season. Set to a hard-driving rock music soundtrack, the movie has a decidedly darker tone than the television series, with detailed visuals in Toei's typical animated feature film styling, and Decepticon villains that are more menacing, killing without hesitation. The film features several grand battles in which a handful of major characters meet their end. The film’s tagline was: "Beyond Good. Beyond Evil. Beyond Your Wildest Imagination."

Are you sure it's the Sean Connery Great Train Robbery or the silent 1903 version?

Are you sure it's the Sean Connery Great Train Robbery or the silent 1903 version? Good question. For arguments sake, let's say it was the 1979 version It does have the awesomeness that is Sean Connery AND Donald Sutherland. Unless you voted for it. Then um... you can cancel out what I said.

#4947 Points (5 Way Tie)Raiders of the Lost ArkReleased June 12, 1981In the film, the Nazis are searching for the lost Ark of the Covenant to make their army invincible, as it did for the Israelites of the Old Testament, and it is up to archaeologist and adventurer Indiana Jones to find it first. George Lucas conceived the film while also writing Star Wars, because of his interest in reviving 1930s cliffhanger serials. The film was a hit with audiences and critics alike, leading to two more films, Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom and Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade. There was also the The Young Indiana Jones Chronicles television series and a fourth film is in production for release in 2008.

#4947 Points (5 Way Tie)Fear and Loathing in Las VegasReleased May 22, 1988Journalist Raoul Duke (Depp) and attorney Dr. Gonzo (Del Toro) travel to Las Vegas, Nevada in 1971 to cover a motorcycle race for a sports magazine and enjoy a haphazardly planned vacation. The vacation turns highly irresponsible and reckless as the two consume copious amounts of illegal drugs, commit various acts of fraud, and generally wreak havoc upon the citizens of Las Vegas. It is an account of Thompson and attorney Oscar Zeta Acosta's actual trip to Las Vegas around the same time period.

K, That is for the night.
No more ties until we get to spot #40.
Tomorrow I'm going to get up to #40 at least... so this is what you'll have in store:
An idiot savant hobbit that has the ability to change history based not only on his time machine, but by his interactions with all time greats. All of this whist he searches for his missing bicycle in gang-ridden LA, all the while fighting away Sith Lords, on his way home from working at Moobys. Lest I forget the mocking tone that is placed over this movie, and the noir undertones, and man, we have a hit!

I didn't vote for it myself, but I have to say, I was very pleasantly surprised how well Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas was adapted into a movie. I still like the book more, but I figured a movie version wouldn't work at all, but it was actually pretty damn good.
