I don't know a single person who dislikes it. What's wrong with it? Jed Shaffer ~It was playing on TV when I proposed to my wife. The scene where Indy drinks the blood. True story. Very romantic. I think some people were put off by the violence...probably the heart scene. Of course nazi face melting in Raiders= ok. I never understood the nonsense about TEMPLE OF DOOM being too dark or too violent or whatever crap. I know as a kid, I dug it. I ate it up. Its basically Spielberg/Lucas having fun. Hell, the whole opening is basically an excuse to nerd-off to the early Connery-007 days....and its appropriate. Someone once told me that RAIDERS flowed as a Bond story, but without the gadgets or playboy antics....and that TEMPLE OF DOOM was GUNGA DIN for the 1980s. Its a point worth considering.

I don't understand what everyone's so angry about. When I watched the video on collegehumor.com, he answered the question, then went off on the guy in a joking manner, like he does with a lot of people who ask him questions. What's the big deal?

To anyone who think that guy was asking a "legitimate" question, he wasn't. He obviously wanted to get a rise out of Smith. If he didn't, he could have asked the question but worded it so that it wasn't such a direct insult. I'm sorry but anytime someone is attacked, they are going to react so I don't blame Smith for ragging on the guy. There is a difference between constructive criticism and insults, that guy was just fliging out a insult to be "cool".

Temple of Doom is awesome. Only negative is Kate Capshaw. I rank it as the worse Indiana Jones movie, but just slightly below Last Crusade. But being the worst Indiana Jones movie is like being the ugliest Victorias Secret model. I always thought Capshaw was a decent actress. Then again, I grew up with junk like TEMPLE OF DOOM and DREAMSCAPE, so I guess I don't know anything different. Then again, that whole schtick in DOOM was meant to be a complete reversal from RAIDERS, where Karen Allen played the tough gal. Whatever it works or not, thats up for debate. But that was the idea. My three problems with LAST CRUSADE, besides the "Diet RAIDERS" cola feeling to it, is: (1) The comedy amped up. (2) People in RAIDERS that were cool slick mofos end up in LAST CRUSADE as baffoons. (3) Spielberg's psychobabble drama about his damn daddy issues.

The guy came off as a dick more than being sarcastic. Plus the whole walking back thing seemed more confrontational than anything, wonder what he was trying to say.

It's all about who has the louder mic clearly, though the guy was kind of being a dick asking that question even if he was joking.

That question was pretty typical for a Kevin Smith Q&A and it got a typical response from Smith. He takes criticism way too personal. I personally thought it was great, he answered the guy's question politely and then zinged him not so politely.
I wouldn't say that Smith is a "hack" since he's the one writing the script, shooting it, and then editing the film afterwards. He makes movies for a small niche audience and doesn't lose money for the people that release his films, therefore letting him make more movies. If most people don't like it, who cares? There are enough people out there (including myself) that do.
Now if he was doing "Rush Hour 3", it would be a different story (Brett Ratner.....THAT guy is a HACK.)
And for what its worth, I liked Jersey Girl also.

I too also liked jersey girl, however it's more of a family movie and I think the majority of people didn't expect an ok family movie from a guy who wrote a scene about a girl going down on 37 guys. I think people should've compared it to something like the parent trap.
anyway smith didn't neccesarly (sp?) lash out at the guy. he just made jokes about him after his insult. trust me, smith could've gone off on him much worse if he wanted to.

Am I seriously the only one who enjoyed Jersey Girl? No, I liked it as well. Affleck was gold in it. AFFLECK, YOU DA BOMB IN PHANTOMS, YO! But seriously, I didn't like it much when I saw it in the theatre, but I'd be lying if I said I don't go out of my way to watch it when it's on TBS.

I enjoyed Jersey Girl. Then again, I watched it post-theatres so I went in without a really high expectations. Still, it sucked me in and I thought it played out well and told a good story.

I love shooting Nazi's!.... and Zombies! Zombie Nazis are better. Bloodrayne FTW. The game, of course, not the abomination of a film directed by the hackiest of all hack directors, German Tax-Break VonSatan.
