I swear, if I have to hear even one more song from High School Musical, I may stab out my own eardrums. The movie itself is bad enough, but my neices are obsessed with it to the point that they watch it, or listen to the sound track, daily, and my wonderful sister has bought them High School Musical blankets and seets. I am surrounded by it and can not get away, and I think it's making me more crazy.

Just do what I do, lock the doors, close the shades, unhook the phones, play Slayer so the volume is at 11 and just in case have a noose ready...

I once heard someone singing from the bathroom cubicle next to me. But it wasn't a kid. It was a gruff manly voice going "We're soaring...We're flying"
I was just like "What the hell?!"
I had to finish what I was doing and get out of the bathroom quick so I could burst out laughing.
Also it was kinda creepy.

I once forced myself to watch High School Musical with some friends. I gave up after 10 minutes. The songs suck ,the acting sucks, the story is cliche and sucks. In short, not getting High School Musical= the right thing to do.

I tried to listen to 'We're Breaking Free' on headphones without visibly cringing. But once that pretty boy Zak Efron or whatever kicks in, I just can't help it. My wee brother's 12 year friend had a copy of it, now my wee brother is minus one 12 year old friend.

My main gripe, apart from the story, acting and songs, is that I thought the duo we were supposed to dislike were more talented than the pair we were supposed to like. Well, at least it paints a realistic picture of the music world today

Is that the disney musical thing?
If so I'd avoid it if it all possible, just like I avoid Dirty Dancing, Grease and any other dire musical, romantic comedy kind of film that is out there.
To quote Lo Pan - You were not brought upon this world to get it!

As the kids today like to say, "you're such a square, man."

Basically, I'm beginning to think this is the cutoff point between Cold Generation Y (If you were born after 1980 and remember the Soviet Union being around), and the kids born in the late eighties/ early 90s. I mean, first I thought it was Mean Girls, because that was the film every freshmen when I was in Grad School loved, but now that I've seen it, it's funny, I get it. But High School Musical, I just don't get. I got High School stuff in college, I guess I don't get it now. Any thoughts? I don't get High School Musical and I'm in high school. So no, I think it's just a matter of personal opinion. I think HSM is more of a fad that is enjoyed mostly by kids in grade school.

In fact, I could not have been more confused last year when ads for it started appearing in every single movie/music store I came across in any mall. I honestly had no idea what was going on.

When I read that story, I imagined an old delusional man walking around without a clue as to what's going on.

No, it means you are intelligent. I refuse to bow down to Disney, who, in my opinion, are responsible for the moral collapse of the US. Look at Cinderella, for example. If you strip... I lost my train of thought at 'Cinderella' and 'Strip'...

What the hell is High School Musical? I'm with him. I was born in 1991, and I keep seeing posters and soundtracks at stores and just going, 'What the hell is this crap?'

No... and Don't try to distance yourself from your generation and cut others out. I was born in the late 80's and I hated it. Just come to terms that your Generation is from 81 ish untill 99-01. If not, then you do not fall under our 2nd Greatest Generation and can go back with those Gen X ers lol Well, I was a 1985-baby (best year of the decade) and I tell ya...........I saw parts of HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL, and I thought...."what, more self-absorbed teen garbage? PLEASE NO!" Feh, 1983 was a better year. Of course, I hated the High School Experience. And how noticed that in Junior College, AND in the workforce people still seem to behave like that.
