I find it hard to believe a 25 year old grown ass man could get "High School Musical". Especially when that man went to an all-boys school where the only music that was made was when the guys farted in lunch. Also in gym. Oh, and in pretty much every other class too.

Hmm, those probably weren't the best choice of words on my part. I'm not really sure what I'm trying to say, but I guess my main point is that the movie itself is total garbage from what I've seen in passing. Bad singing, terrible acting, and one of the most overall annoying films I've come across in a while. Then again, I'm 22, and this kind of junk isn't supposed to appeal to me in the first place. Maybe I just wish that demographic that the movie appeals to would be smart enough to distinguish between good and bad. But it's the same demographic that loves "Bratz" and MTV reality shows, so my hopes for them shouldn't be the least bit high in the first place.

If you go back and watch what was marketed to us as children, you'll see a lot of 'crap' as well. Not going against your point, but everything is relative: when you are younger than 13, which is what this movie is marketed towards, having a movie that showcases music, friendships, and a positive outlook towards school is a GOOD thing.

Yeah, as I said, my initial statement came out the wrong way. I can see how it's a good movie in that respect. I guess me looking at the movie as being poorly acted and completely annoying is a sign of me getting too old. I guess for all the Bratz toys and Laguna Beaches out there, which fill kids' minds with a false sense of reality, you need a movie like HSM to balance it out.

I liked Laguna Beach As for Bratz, I let my daughter play with and watch that stuff, but she knows not to question authority or act out what she sees on the screen. It's all relative; all belongs at home and if you are brought up to believe everything you see on TV. If that were the case, then I would have been dropping double axehandles at school, or crashing my 2nd grade teachers wedding reception with a snake as her gift.

or crashing my 2nd grade teachers wedding reception with a snake as her gift. You mean you haven't done that? I highly recommend it, the payoff is excellent.

I resent the comment that all musicals suck. The Rocky Horror Picture Show was awesome. And who could forget "Jerry Springer: The Opera"

The better question: Does not even knowing what HSM is make you old?
