...Randy Orton possibly being next in line for a run with the WWE title? I've been away from the net for a few days and the way his matches are being booked are making me suspicious.

It'd set a dangerous precedent. Trash a hotel room, TWO TIME WORLD CHAMP!

OR, despite my post in another thread.... Maybe it's being set up for him to go to ECW?

If you listen to PWI, this is all being done to build him up so HHH has a strong opponent to take down when he returns to Raw.
Other than that, I don't recall reading any other explanations.
So either they really want to push him again, or it's to set up someone for HHH to beat down upon his return.

I don't think they're so much pushing Orton, as I think they're just using him in a storyline to explain RVD being taken off TV.

Nah. I think he just kicked two peoples asses by being in the right place at the right time. HBK was injured, and RVD is on the way out the door.
I hope that's not how they're punishing him for his tantrum over in the UK or wherever.

I'd mark for an Orton title run.

He is just being prepared for Triple H.
I truly believe this.
He is basically in limbo. They will let him near the title, but won't let him have it. He'll be near main event level, but always a pedigree away from back to Midcard, feuding for the IC title.

If you asked this question about two weeks ago, I would've said yes since there wasn't anyone else on Raw. But with next week's draft happening, there could easily be someone else to fill the void in the main event scene and get the next title shot.

Why the smurf would they build him up just to be crushed by Triple H. Sometimes WWE really baffles me.
I think he has been really impressive recently and we have yet to see Cena vs Orton. He must be next in line unless they use someone from the draft.

I'f love to see Orton as champ again. Sure he screws up on occasion outside the squared circle, and he has the odd mic slip-up, but he plays his character well, and is very talented. I believe he is the future of the biz once he gets his act together. You can't really fault the guy. Being given so much at a young age can really screw a person up. Look at young rock stars and actors, a lot of them turn into drug addicts. For the common person, it's easy to say "Oh, life must be SO hard with all that money and fame *roll eyes*" but in reality, it's a lot of pressure. It's far too easy to criticize people who are on a pedestal.

I honestly think it would be the most ECW thing to do to put Randy Orton in ECW where he is HATED. Plus you honestly have good wrestling ability on ECW, and Randy is no slouch, so it could lead to greatness.
Plus it has the added bonus of 'punishing' Randy because it's the lowest of the low shows, while still keeping him hot and fresh by putting him in the main event on one of the shows.
