Back in the day whenever Jake the Snake's intro I use to cheer my ass off on how cool he was as he carries that bag behind his back. The Theme song was pretty awesome too. Just a question? If Jake played his cards right could have he been bigger than hogan? Because I remember when he was feuding with hogan people cheered for Jake although he was a heel.

Not bigger than Hogan. Robberts had a completely different appeal. But he could have been a bigger star then he actually was. If he had kept his head on his shoulders and stayed clean he should and probably could have been a world champ.

Roberts' old school theme was even better than his WWF one; if I remember right, it was "In the Flesh", by Pink Floyd, which is amazing.

Anyone got a sample of his "Trust me" heel theme tune? I forget what it was like.

I don't remember his theme song off the top of my head..but I do remember how he'd slide into the ring like a snake, sit in the corner and just laugh at his opponents then quickly slink up.
I think Raven bit that off of him.

Here was the thing about Jake as it relates to titles. The guy was so good in his given role that he didn't need the title. Some guys get to a certain level where there's nothing else that a character can do, so they just have him feud over the title forever on end (read Cena, John). Jake could feud with Warrior, Undertaker, Rick Rude, or Earthquake, and you would have seen four distinct feuds.

Jake's theme is possibly my favourite of all time, it just suited him perfectly, and that character.

Jake's theme is possibly my favourite of all time, it just suited him perfectly, and that character. It was a good theme indeed. HOLLYWOOD HULK HOGAN used it in his workout video prior to his NBC primetime rematch with Andre the Giant.

Some wrestlers are belt marks though and think that belts are one of the only things that matter while others just try working their best no matter what. jake the snake I think fell into the latter catagory while tripple H would fall into the belt mark catagory.

If Jake played his cards right could have he been bigger than hogan? Yon don't want to play cards with me, because I'll cheat. Okay, I cheat. You want to play 21, I got 22. You want to play black jack? I got two of those too. You want to play aces and eights? Well, I got some of those too. Bottom line is this. You do not gamble with me ... When you walk into a casino, when you want to gamble, the main thing you must do, is this, you must accept losing. I don't accept losing, and neither does Damien. Damien, my friend! My friend Damien is right here. You don't want to see this, do you? Let me show you something. I tell you what Anvil, go ahead and roll the dice. Mr. Cameraman, get your ass back up here. Hell-oooo, I'm talkin' to you. Get that camera back up here. That's what you should worry about Anvil. The bottom line is this, when the DDT comes, then the snake comes out. Worry about the DDT. DDT! DDT! DDT! DDT! DDT! DDT! THINK ABOUT IT! ...but actually I do think he missed some opportunities to become an immortal legend, the same goes for Raven.

Jake was many people's favorite wrestler in the 80s. My dad who does not care for wrestling will watch if Jake is involved because Jake makes wrestling watchable. I still cant believe this guy looks like shit now and its appearant he does not want to stop his self destructive behavior which becomes clear if you watch RF video "On the road with Jake the snake Roberts"
