No, it would be a bad idea. Sting and Backlund are old men who have already been world champions. The fans don't want to see it, me included. That is one of the reasons WCW is no longer in business: old guys who had been in the main event for years were in the main event instead of younger guys who deserved to be in the main event.
Now, if the Bound For Glory main event was Sting VS Samoa Joe, then I would be glad. And, that would be a wise decision on TNA's part.

From a business stand point it would almost be suicide but the mark in me would absolutely love to see Backlund come down to the ring with the towel around his neck and make the Stinger tap out |

I never got what the appeal of Backlund was. I remember him feuding with Bret Hart when I was younger, and I liked that feud.
But other than that, he's always seemed pretty boring to me. He's like if Cardboard was a professional wrestler.

So, when's Sammartino debuting in TNA? I doubt Bruno(In Late 70'S?) But Maybe His less than talented son David(Mid 50'S) could show up in TNA. If Russo Catches wind of this it could be David Vs Backlund VS Sting 3way dance. |
