I like Bryan Danielson, but for me Christian Cage is the best. No one has a better grasp on ring psychology than him. Sure, he doesn't do the flashy flippy-floppy stuff, but he does everything for a reason.
He could have a great match with just about anybody. In that respect, he can't be touched.
Who do you think sets the standard for the wrestling world?

Who do you think sets the standard for the wrestling world? I'm with you all the way on Christian Cage, man! Half a decade after E & C ended and he's still reeking of awesomeness! I think that Finlay generally has a good workrate. Booker T is also a favorite of mine, but in terms of workrate he doesn't really stand out.

I guess I'm the only one who find Christian Cage boring and has to be carried in matches.
Oh I say Finlay, without a doubt

Danielson can do it all. His in-ring skills go without saying, but he can also work a crowd with the best of them.
Bryan Danielson all the way.

As far as pure workrate goes, Danielson is untouchable

Workrate means the amount of work you do in the match physicality.
Workrate doesn't mean great psychology.

Workrate means the amount of work you do in the match physicality. Workrate doesn't mean great psychology. This + This John Cena THE CHAMPZZ IAZ HEREEA!!! = The correct answer.

Workrate means the amount of work you do in the match physicality. Workrate doesn't mean great psychology. See, then workrate would be a negative. If Christian Cage needs dozens of manuvers to win a match, and Great Khali needs only one BRAIN CHOP, then Khali is the more efficient, ergo better, wrestler.

Just porves my theory that "workrate" is nothing but a new kayfabe for smart mark fans [myself included, I guess]. Wouldn't Kurt Angle just shoot on a guy, make him tap, and be done in every match? Because he could. But it makes for bad spectacle. Many of us would rather see a good workrate 30-minute ironman match and call it great wrestling, instead of Umaga beating down John Cena and losign to a roll-up, which is booking psychology akin to Joe losing via quickpin in his long title reign. I don't know where I'm going off to here, really, but yeah. Workrate is as much a kayfabe construction as the basic suspension of disbelief in the actual fighting itself.

who gives a shit? If i dont find the wrestler entertaining, it doesn't matter how great their "workrate" is.

I think a big factor in why workrate is a bit of a hokey term is because nobody seems to have the same answer when it comes to asking what it even means.

Kevin Nash CLEARLY has the best workrate. When he wrestled Misawa and Kobashi in a three way for thousands at the Tokyo Dome he had the crowd in his hands there. And he didn't even have to pull out his three somersult clothesline. All he needed to do was a flick of the eye and the crowd was hooked.
No man has his godly workrate. It's a shame that he can't go to ROH and be used to his full potential. Well at least he's not in the WWE where he would just job to John Cena.

Kobashi and Misawa have been riding the coattails of Kevin Nash's hard work in that match for farrrrr too long.
