People who say "I hate the fans whos it on their hands". Shut.The.Hell.Up. I paid for my ticket, I can enjoy the show how I want.

You mean sit on their hands as in being quite? It's cool if you wanna be quite sit back & enjoy the show, some people aren't the chanting type but dead crowds suck.

As a wrestler I prefer it when the fans actively participate in the show, but eh, I can respect you either way. I would prefer SOME reaction just so I know I'm entertaining you. I look at it as going to an Anthrax concert and sitting in a chair and politely clapping after each song.

It's up to the person how they want to cheer or not, as long as they don't disrupt the show, it's up to them.
But dead crowds such as L.I certainly do suck, and comes across awfully bad on TV.

I'd rather a dead crowd (Long Island) than an ignorant crowd (Orlando)

Orlando is bad I know, but at least they're active and alive, which is good for any show, even if they're chant-happy.

I'd take a TNA iMPACT Zone crowd over a crowd sitting there in silence. That ROH Suffocation show suffered with that crowd.

TNA Orlando crowds are bad. Whenever I went to WWE shows here in Orlando, it was pretty good.

Yeah the TNA ones are only bad cause they all know each other & every taping is their annual get together.

Ok, I'm a native Long Islander, and have been to several ROH shows here on the Island, including Sign of Dishonor, Unscripted 2, and the recent show with Samoa Joe vs AJ Styles. Needless to say, I know a dead crowd.
I've also gone to several ROH shows in New Jersey and New York City. Steel Cage Warfare, both Manhattan Center Shows, Fight of the Century... I know wild crowds.
Let me tell you something. Being in a room full of people who don't seem to care versus being in a room full of rabid, bloodthirsty fans... it can be the same card, but it's two entirely different shows. Attending many ROH shows on Long Island, I have been left feeling disappointed, even some strong and important shows, like AJ's last match for the company. Likewise... being at the Manhattan Center for Homicide's title win, and the noise the crowd made that night... the crowd makes such a difference in the enjoyability of the show.
I'm not saying everyone's gotta be loud and fun and what not, but it makes a tremendous difference.

Aren't Japanese crowds the same way, respectful of the wresters but very quiet throughout most of the match? I've never seen a raucous Japanese crowd now that I think of it.

There's a difference between "dead" and "appreciative and respectful." The Japanese watch then applaud exchanges. As for raucous Japanese crowd I believe that Hogan/Muta was a very racuous one IIRC. Plus NOAH crowds can get pretty wild.

but to be fair NOAH shows can get dead crowds too. look at amdrag vs. KENTA.
but hey I'm a regular at IWA MS shows (I even got my IWA MS frequent buyer card to prove it!) so I know what dead crowds can be like. KOW vs. B-boy and arik cannon is what I would call a dead crowd.

Some recent Japanese crowds are pretty loud. Although mainly only for Kobashi and Misawa, but there was a hell of a lot of popping for KENTA/Marufuji in October.
