Before the Monday Night War and before Raw, The WWF had 3 shows that would take place on WWF TV during The Federation era, WWF Superstars, WWF Wrestling Challenge, and WWF Primetime Wrestling, and somehow I could never understand the difference between those 3 shows. I also would like to know which show you liked best.
EDIT: I accidentaly pressed the return key so you may get 2 of these polls, my bad.

Oh man, I recently got the oppurtunity to get my hands on some of these shows. Being a fan when they were all still around, I of course had fond memories of them. Then I saw the match listing with nothing but stars versus jobbers. Which is of course the way it was for so long. I don't know though after that my interest in seeing them again really, really faded. As bad as wrestling can be now, I think I can honestly say that I am gald that there are not THAT many jobber matches.

The first one I started watching regularly was All-American Wrestling.

Superstars was the best. Nothing like waking up at 6am to watch cartoons, and then watch wrestling right after said cartoons.

Prime Time Wrestling-not only did it have matches and interviews from Superstars and Challenge, but it had Monsoon and Heenan, and earlier on Ventura in the studio and on location-great fabulous times-I miss that show so much
anyone remember the old commercial? P is for Power and Punch! T is for Titan and Turnbuckle! W is for Wild and Winning! PTW is for Prime Time Wrestling-mondays at 9 on USA

There wasn't much difference between Superstars and Challenge, IIRC. It was the same premise, just different announce teams. I never got Primetime Wrestling since I lived in Canada at the time. I always watched WWF Superstars followed by Challenge or Cavalcade on Saturday afternoons. Man, I miss those days.

I never got challenge in my area, but it seemed, like it was a step below Superstars, nothing against it, but Superstars had the bigger announce team and a feeling of being bigger from what I could tell

I had to vote for Prime Time, because it was the first WWF programming I ever saw. Plus, it had Gorilla & Heenan at the news desk.

Cannot decide. Primetime would have better matches but Superstars and Challenge were where they furthered their weekly storylines.

When I watched Prime Time, in between matches was the McLaughlin Group-style setup with Vince as moderator, Hillbilly Jim and Jim Duggan as the faces, and Heenan and Perfect as the heels. This, of course, was where Perfect turned face and dumped the jug of water on Heenan, and he was replaced by Lawler until Raw took Prime Time's place.

Saturday morning was amazing cartoons, not the shit they have now...then Superstars came on. I had Saturday afternoon to play, then around 4 Maple Leaf Wrestling came on. Satuday night was Hockey Night in Canada, Sunday was, depending on the era, All American Wrestling, Action Zone or whatever they had it named at the time. Monday was then Raw.
Yes, the old days ruled.

IIRC, at least in my area, Superstars was the saturday morning show that furthered the storylines. Wrestling Challenge was along the same lines as Superstars, but without the main-eventers. And Prime Time Wrestling was like a combo of both, with the unforgettable team of Gorilla Monsoon and Bobby Heenan in a news studio-like setting to intro matches or interact with one another. This was where I first remember Bobby Heenan referencing his sources and using the infamous Bananaphone.

I can confidently say that my Saturdays as a WWF fan growing up were the greatest thing ever.
Cartoons followed up by WWF Mania followed up by WWF Superstars followed up by college football followed up by WCW Saturday Night ended with Nickelodeon Snick.
Man...what I'd give to be 8 again...

If Saturday Night's Main Event doesn't count, then I can't decide. But I can't recall ever watching Prime Time. (of course I was 10 years old when it left).

Why isn't Saturday Night's Main Event on the list?
