I was thinking about good ol' Kane (Glenn Jacobs) the other day, and how in real life Glenn Jacobs is an extremely private individual.
Now as much as some of us (me included) would love to see Kane World Champion, that's probably not going to happen. Why? Because I don't think Glenn Jacobs wants the spotlight, wants the constant pressure, the interviews, the millions pulls on his time and attention. I read somewhere that Kane prefers to work with younger guys, and the last few years have pretty much proven that.
Kane did an amazing job putting Snitsky over, he also put over Umaga (twice!), and jobbed to MVP a few times, giving him credibility. So, at least Glenn Jacobs is happy where he is.
And that got me thinking, what other wrestlers out there are happy their current spots? Wrestlers that aren't being held down, are not kept from advancing?
Chris Benoit comes to mind. Honestly, he doesn't have anything to prove, he already got his world title reign, albeit not a very impressive one. He seems content where he is, king of the US Title division. I mean, he COULD have had a hell of a feud with Booker T over the World Title when he came back, but instead he went after US Title. So, was that WWE not wanting to push Benoit, or that simply being Benoit's preferred spot?
Not every wrestler has to be like Edge or Orton, content only to be on top. So who else do you think is just plain happy where they are?

Kane was World Champion, be it only for the night.
I think you are missing the difference between reality and fiction slightly. In real life Edge and Orton are wrestlers that do want to be on top, as does everyone, but its not like they're the selfish, arrogant, big headed asses that they potray on TV.
Benoit is US Champ, because thats where he fits in. Im presuming he hasnt said "I dont want to be World Champ" at the minute. WWE is running the Batista, and soon to be Undertaker programme with the belt at the moment, when they need someone else they will probably call up Benoit.
The wrestlers dont tell the booking/creative team, where they need to put them, or what belt they need to have - WWE tells them what they will have.

I would imagine the Undertaker is happy where he is, he can take time off whenever he wants, never needs a title to be over and is another relativly private individual.
I dont know whether Londrick are happy, but they should be. Instead of floundering in a going no where cruiser division they can be kings of smackdowns tag division. Granted the job out to MNM whenever MNM need to go over someone, but that's only because they are the only decent tag team that MNM can go over when fueding with the Hardys that would actually mean anything in terms of match build up.

True, Kane was world champ, but like you said, only for one night. He didn't have to show up at press conference's and do commercials and whatnot. One night, to further a storyline, that's it. And no, I'm not blurring the line. That's true, the wrestlers Orton and Edge are arrogant, selfish, etc. etc. But what I'm saying is that Randy Orton and Adam Copeland seem to WANT to be world champions, to be the main event, to be in the spotlight. And that's fine, but that doesn't mean that EVERY wrestler wants that. Not every wrestler in the WWE wants to be the media frenzy/attraction that Cena is. And you're right, WWE tells the wrestlers what titles they'll have. My question is, which wrestlers do you think are happy with their spot/happy where they are?

I think Viscera is another good example. He'll never make it anywhere else, he sucks as a wrestler, and his gimmick is crap. My guess is, he's just happy to have a job.

Yeah, he's a great wrestler but he is a bit of a charisma black hole and the WWE champion needs charisma else he's just another trans. champ

Val Venis is another wrestler who's just happy to have a regular job and get a steady wage. No frustration on his part about being a Heat regular. Or so the rumours sat, of course.
And, I agree with Legion. Benoit was world champion for six months and still felt like a transitional champ.

I agree Benoit was a horrible, boring champion and should never ever have the title again.
Hell better wrestlers than Benoit never made it so he should be thankful for that one time.

I am right in thinking that the WWE champion does chat shows and things in america aren't i?

Benoit should be champ again. They did kinda treat him as a heel last night in the Undertaker beatdown, so have him feud with Taker for the title after mania but benoit as the "shooter" heel.

Hmmm.. who should be happy with his spot...
Definitely Val Venis. I mean, he was awesome til he joined RTC and shortened his hair. He shoulda never got rid of the long hair.
Brian Kendrick: sure he's a tag team wrestler, but he used to be naked!
Randy Orton: he's violated the wellness policy, pooped in a bag, he's a smoker (which vince hates). He should be glad he's in the main event spot.
