You know, back in the middle of last year, I anticipated Jeff's return would've been incredibly fun. Not the case anymore. Not only is a match of his clumsy, but the feud has been completely one-sided for the last 4 months. Now this may be similar to Edge/Cena, but when you've got a young set of skilled heels who are FINALLY starting to get pretty over, you'd put them over against a legendary tag team right?
WRONG.
Instead, we get to see the possible culmination of what could have been an excellent feud, but the results stand: Hardyz 9239294584375, MNM 0. Will Jeff ever lose to anyone NOT named Umaga? Will the younger heels with bright futures get what they need to succeed? No and no. Instead, they pander to the marks by giving the Hardyz ANOTHER win and making MNM do the job once more, at a crucial point where this feud could've become interesting again.
But like I said, having an even feud is nothing but a pipe dream.
I'd like to see where things could go from here, but this feud has just been terrible as of late. Most feuds cannot get me to hate wrestlers when I once liked them, but his one has. Matt I can take. He pays his dues week after week. I actually like him a lot still. Jeff? HA! He comes onto Smackdown, wins the IC belt, and in his matches he seems to have around 1 or 2 facial expressions total when doing anything.
He's just become terribly bland and unexciting, because you KNOW what they'll do with him.
Now I wouldn't consider this a bury for any members of MNM, as this happened with RKO/DX, Test/Lashley, Batista/Booker, or Edge/Cena, they blew a major opportunity here to finally put some people into the spotlight, and once again blew an opportunity for an exciting feud.
And so my rant comes to a close. Ugh, things could've been outstanding; I saw much potential for this. But it just isn't right the direction things are headed.
