I don't get too excited about much anymore in wrestling. However, I see potential in the Koslov character. I actually created a character very similar in a discussion with a smarky friend of mine. He must be a heel first and foremost. The character is loosely based on the tag team from the 80's..The Fabulous Rougeau Brothers. See the link www.obsessedwithwrestling.com/profiles/r/rougeau-brothers.html(links to obsessedwithwrestling are ok I hope) The Rougeau's were a great concept that was somewhat botched by the WWF. They started as a face tag team from Canada with French accents that were over friendly with the crowd. They would wave little Canadian flags when in Canada or little American flags in the states with these ridiculously huge smiles on their faces. After all the smiles and flag waving, they would wrestle as faces but get the win using a heel tactic. hey would pull the tights for the win, then try to shake hands with the defeated opponent) The fans would always cheer them at the beginning of their WWF run. However, once fans saw them cheat on TV 4 or 5 times, they started to boo them. Instead of continuing the whole charade of heels pretending to be faces, the WWF turned them heel too soon. It was great and innovative at a time when the WWF was very systematic. Koslov needs to be an extension of the Rougeau's. We don't need another typical America bashing foreign heel like Koloff,Iron Sheik(I won't include Hassan as he was somewhat original) Koslov needs to be a smiling nice foreign guy that gets under the fans skin by being naive. For example, when the WWE is in Indianapolis Koslov could say "I love America. I love Indingapolis and American football. Tom Brady is best American Quarterhalf back..yes! (boooos) Why you no like me? WWE in Montreal...I love Canada. You are great people. Canada is the greatest state in the United States.(boos) Why you no like me? I beat up this man(jobber) like Vince Mcmahon beat up Bret Clark.

Hassan was not orginal he was as trie as the Nation of Domination. In fact he was Faraooq Asad without the body aromor and a different race. WWE played him on racial tensions to get him cheap heat, good move on their part; until that is, they caved into main stream pressure to stop. That was a good move in hindsight as sponsor are more imporant than a heel that generates no money.
As far as Koslov goes they are monster heavy alreday with Lashley, Umaga Kali and Kane. There really isn't room for a shoot fighter gimmick or another buzzsaw. Don't forget the monster killer Cena this is quickly turning into WCW circa 1994.

he's a foreigner who isn't overly friendly: automatic heel heat no matter what At first , he was overly nice. All of a sudden, he started showing a little mean streak. They need to drop the mean streak asap. Let him continue the I love WWE...etc. then pummel a jobber but use the ropes for the win.

Kozlov is the first guy ever to be turned heel before he even debues. I think if that's the case. it's a good idea because the crowds were booing him. It'd be stupid for them (WWE) to just have him smile and be all happy-goody when the crowd booes him. You could tell he was angry on Smackdown this past week..
Did I just associate logic with the WWE? Shame on me, disregard everything I said.

Koslov does have some real potential, and I can't wait to see if he's improved in ring over his last DSW run. I hope he has, because otherwise I'm gonna have to deal with weekly hate threads of one of my current favorites.

The crowds are booing mainly because he is polite, he thinks he can beat everyone and he they really seem to get a kick out of "I love double double E" I agree with the sentiment that if he is going to seem new and have any chance at all he would need to be a happy go lucky guy outside of the ring. A buzzsaw inside the ring that cheats to win.
However if he is the cheat to win heel what is Kenny going to do? I know there characters are different but how many of the same type of finsihes can you fit into a two hour program that only has 6 matches anyway?

They made it out like Angle was going to be a good guy. He would do relatively harmless promos, but every now and then would sneak in a line like "And I won the gold medal because I am an Olympic athlete which makes me better than most people". He would never just say anything outright heelish, but he would say a few strategically placed lines that made him look like a jerk. Then when people started booing him, he would be like "Why are you booing me? How can you boo someone as great as me?" That worked great I thought. I think maybe they could do that with Koslov.
