Buildup has been great. I love that WWE.com has been looking at a lot of the rumbles history and everything. And Raw's ending made me pumped for the Rumble match.

Plus the Rumble has (at least recently) been easy to build up. Just push the Rumble match itself and throw in one other well built match and push and they have done that well. I give it an 8.

They've been doing a great job of building the Rumble, especially on SmackDown.
Then again, it's the Rumble. They could mention it a week before it happens as "just happening" and it'd still get a big buyrate.

I'm a little conflicted with this one.
Match by match breakdown is like this:
-Hardyz vs. MNM: EXCELLENT build-up. This has been coming for a while with both teams feuding on both RAW and SmackDown, and Mercury's injury added more feul to the angle. Perfect execution.
-Batista vs. Mr. Kennedy: These two have wrestled before, but this time around...I don't know. They've done a good job getting over how Kennedy is ready for the match and deserves a title shot, but the only thing thats built up his actual feud with Batista was last weeks shot to the face. Pretty damn weak.
Bobby Lashley vs. Test: f***ing horrible. Having this match already HAPPEN a week before the PPV is the stupidest, most backward-ass booking I've seen the WWE do in a long time. TERRIBLE.
Cena vs. Umaga: A predictable match, but good build-up nonetheless. Pretty basic feud, but its a good execution of it.
Royal Rumble match: Good build-up, but I would have liked to see more of people actually EARNING a spot as opposed to just having one. Pet peeve, I guess. Otherwise a good build-up with several possible winners.
In general, I gave it a 7. Lashley/Test dragged it down, and they coulda done more with Batista/Kennedy. Otherwise, solid build-up.

I give it an 8.5. pretty good build-up
MNM vs Hardyz- great interpromotional feud, especially with Mercury's injury escalating this rivalry even further
Batista vs. Mr Kennedy... Kennedy- I've only been able to watch Smackdown the past few weeks (usually had to work Fri. nights in the past), but I've got to say I enjoyed the Beat the Clock challenge and the way that Kennedy prevailed.
Lashley vs Test- I've given up on ECW after the D2D/Heyman's dismissal stuff. its not good that after the Big Show retired from competition and Heyman being let go, the biggest heel in ECW is TEST!?!?!?, that says it all.
Cena vs. Umaga- not too bad of a build-up, of course anytime you see Cena going through a table like he did this past Mon., its a good thing. of course I'm predicting Cena to win, only because he's the WWE's Golden Boy right now (Lets go Umaga nonetheless)
Royal Rumble- the thing I like about this years Rumble is that there doesn't seem to be a clear cut favorite to win it. sometimes in the past it was kinda easy to pick who was going to win the Rumble (HHH in 02, Lesnar in 03), but this year to me its totally up in the air. all put together this should be a good one

bump
I'll say that while this year's Rumble is up in the air, that's more because of everyone is at more at an okay level, rather than having eight or nine guys built up strongly like the 1992 Rumble, which is what I would prefer.

I think my problem with the Rumble match is that because of the guys in it being put up on WWE.com, it hasn't exactly left much time to build up guys who could win the rumble. That's why the only legit looking ones are Taker, Michaels, Khali, Orton and Edge.
I'm not saying they should make EVERYONE look like they can win the rumble, but just a few guys. Make it seem important. Don't have, say, The Undertaker come out and beat the crap out of 5 guys. Yes, it puts him over for the Rumble, but what about those 5 other guys?
