On occasion, I have been known to be less that optimistic when it comes to the E. But in my defense, as far as ECW goes, they haven't given me any reason to be. I was mostly just makeing a joke, but you're damn right he's not on my list of "potential." (BTW--where did I mention a list?) Mordecai sucked, and so does Thorn. Perhaps it's just being stuck in a bad gimmick. Maybe squashes put over new talent, but they're boring to watch. Sorry. No, it's about entertaining the fans, which they aren't doing. Foul! Foul! You can't bust out a Luger joke on me! How can I concentrate? Look at him, trying to get his shirt off, screaming in anger. GAH! Anyway, I honestly thought you mentioned a list, but I am tired, so please excuse me. I don't mind squashes because they get a guys moveset into the crowd's head and that allows for them to react when someone blocks the move later on. I am actually entertained with new ECW. I dropped the idea of thinking it would be anything like the old after the first week or two. I enjoy what I get from it. If anything, WWE could use it as a nationally televised OVW, preparing stars for Raw & Smackdown while keeping popular originals (Sandman/Dreamer/RVD) there to get attention and put over new talent (Which doesn't always mean losing. Thorn hanging in with RVD helped his cred in some fans's eyes.)

Where the heck is that Luger pic from? I don't remember him having difficulty ripping off his T-shirt like that in WCW, and I don't know what "SW" signifies. If this is what he's down to he's really hit the skids.

Thorn hanging in with RVD helped his cred in some fans's eyes.) With the exception of Goldberg's early days, I've never enjoyed squashes, especially when it involves guys who are capable of so much more. Remember Punk's debut against Justin Credible? It was short, but I wouldn't call it a straight squash. Both men got moves in, and Punk looked all the better for winning in my eyes. I was actually one of the people that was super-excited for the "return" of ECW. I actually recorded the show for the first few weeks so that friends could see it. I actually had the first ten episodes all on tape, but the last 5 or 6 were just out of habit or a sense of obligation. (I've since tossed them all in the trash.) I don't think I can accurately describe how psyched I was. But I should've known things were going down hill the moment Big Show won the battle royal as ECW's newest recruit. I was still excited, though, because I was eager to see a show that was actually booked by Heyman again. What I got was a cardboard cutout of a wrestler in the name of Mike Knox, a freshly returning for his umpteenth chance to get over Test, and a guy who thinks he's a waxing vampire squashing my old favorites like Al Snow, Stevie Richards, and Tommy Dreamer. Plus, Kelly Kelly. Then, five weeks in, Taz gave us some lame "It's not the 'old' ECW" line on his 'Shootin' with Taz' segment. Ya think, Taz? I stopped watching regularly a few weeks before D2D, but kept up with it from reports until then. After reading about that PPV, I've abandoned it altogether. I honestly don't care what they do with, as RD so perfectly called it, "that...THING...on Sci Fi." Keep it. Cancel it. I don't watch so I don't really care. But since the thread asked what I thought they should do, I just voiced my opinion.

ECW is not that bad. I'm starting to get use to Punk, and Knox, and Stryker. Though Kelly Kelly could be let go. I think just like TNA it needs another hour.

I'd say just rename it. We all know it's not what ECW used to be. Let's stop lying to ourselves and just give it another name. If it were operating under a separate/new/different name, I doubt people would be dropping their spleens about it as much as they do.

I would "reboot" ECW, like when WCW stripped all the wrestlers of their titles (good idea, bad execution).
Lashley would be stripped of the title and sent to another brand or OVW. The show would take two weeks off, in their place would be Joey Styles hyping the new "new ECW" and showing features on the ECW Originals. The new new ECW would debut from the Hammerstein Ballroom and have an opening promo from Paul Heyman. The show would also feature RVD winning the ECW Championship in a three-way dance, with his opponents being Sabu and Benoit.
From here, ECW would run their own arenas and house shows would return. Talent from the indies, rather than from OVW or DSW would be pushed as the next generation of ECW stars. WWE would only handle the business aspects of ECW while keeping their hands off creatively. Heyman would of course be booking. The rejects from the other brands would be sent back to those brands or to developmental.

Stop the madness! Either kill off ECW or make it completely separate from Raw and Smackdown.

Stop the madness! Either kill off ECW or make it completely separate from Raw and Smackdown. Of course, this should've been done in the first place. Making it Brand Three was only ever going to doom it to a slow and painful public death. AND, I think they should've kept their purchase of WCW quiet and kept THAT running. The E was always at its best with competition.

C'mon--it's too simple: Take it away from Smackdown, put it in smaller arenas like the Hammerstein and Viking Hall, and let Paul E book it. Presto--you've got the best wrestling show on TV.

More cowbell - the signing of Ace Steel will ensure this.

They should sell ECW on Ebay.
they'd get a few extra bucks.

Other - Change the name.
It isn't ECW in any way at this point, don't call it that.

I say again, just kill it. No one within the company even cares about it enough to actually try to make it succeed anyway.

As bad as ECW is sometimes, every episode is better than every single episode of RAW.
