So, Lashley won with his new innovative running powerslam, and he will do the same exact move to win at the Rumble.
So this just in Test vs. Lashley will suck at levels that has never sucked before. Unless Test wins and changes the ECW belt to the European championship and be declared the best Euro champ ever.

Well you see, WWE doesn't want anyone buying PPVs to see ECW matches, so they give away the ECW matches for free on free TV.
The crushing lack of creativity in ECW's writing staff could also be to blame. They just can't think of anything else to do except have the same three guys fight in different combinations each week...

The Point: Last minute move so Holly wouldnt get face pops over Lashley.
As for why Lashley won clean. Who cares its Test, bury away.

Still, if you were trying to build for a PPV a screwy ending was almost a must! DQ, count-out, Test getting a screw-job victory, or anything else would have been better for the PPV than wwhat they went with.

I think Test is un-fairly criticized. Considering his role as a big monster, he's a pretty damn good wrestler all around. The guy looks like he's putting on hurting, and he sells well.
With that out of the way, I agree that there was no point to the match last night. Last week while we were discussing "face dominated feuds," I tried to make the point about how interesting the company's main event feuds have been lately. Even though WWE's history is to have the babyface go over at the big Pay-Per View match, the heel was always presented as a threat in the build up to the Pay Per-View. Lately it has just been the babyfaces kicking the heels asses every night. We've seen it with Cena, we saw it with DX, and now we're seeing it with Lashley. It's not exciting to see the babyface win a pay-per view match after you've already seen him kick the heel's ass for 3 weeks. What's the point?
If the first time you heard the story of the Tortoise and the Hare, and the Hare just beat him by a mile, would you care to remember that story? Would that make sense to you? Would there be any point to that? That was a children's story written so kids could understand it. Whoever's writing these shows these days can't even be coherent to a child. That's pathetic.

What exactly did Lashley do warrant his current big push

I really don't see the point in giving Lashley of all people such a huge push, he was a midcarder on SMackdown (where he belonged IMHO), and they give him the ECW belt almost as soon as he enters. Couldn't they have taken their time and put a little more drama into the storyline? It makes the ECW belt look like a throwaway title when midcarders from other shows win it nearly instantly when entering ECW.

I started a post just like this called something like "More Piss Poor ECW Booking"
This is what I said about that pointless main event:
Anyone see the main event last night? Can anyone explain the logic to me? Why would anyone be interested in the match this Sunday at the Rumble between Lashley and Test now that we have already seen the match and know that Lashley can beat Test cleanly? I fail to see how that match helped hype the match this Sunday in any way shape or form. In fact, I think it actually took hype away from the match (not that there was much hype to begin with).

I'd wouldn't mind seeing Test as ECW champion. I like Test. I wouldn't make him WWE or World Heayweight Champion. But considering the roster that he works on, I think Test would make a cool champion.

How sad is it that I want test to win a match for a world title?
I will answer and say very. Someone please put this horse out of its misery, pun totally intended. I want to hear what Foley will say if Test wins. FOley hates him some test.
I know it is not the old ECW, but if it has to have the name can I get a table every once in a while? And put on a show that does not have Heyman on suicide watch?

It's simple.
Good always triumphs over evil =)
That's why Cena/DX/Lashley/Batista never loose in the end.
WWE logic isn't that hard when you think about it.
