Might I also add that he was a great big man, but never an icon. Honestly I never heard his name brought up in HOF talks until he passed on. Correct me if I'm wrong, but Brooklyn Brawler's rumoured to be getting in this year. Regardless of his passing, Bam Bam should get in to the HOF.

I hope he doesn't get in this year. While it's a shame when anyone dies that should not put you to the top of the list for Hall of Fame induction. I'm still angry that Eddie Guerrero was inducted (not to mention the title changes, altered PPV endings, t-shirts, catch phrases and storyline after storyline all of which have to a degree disgraced Eddie's passing) just so that the WWF could use the attention for their own gain.
Bam Bam Bigelow should certainly make the Hall of Fame one day. But it should be because of his in ring accomplishment, not just because he died.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but Brooklyn Brawler's rumoured to be getting in this year. Regardless of his passing, Bam Bam should get in to the HOF. Steve Lombardi is probably the most famous jobber of all time. Losing matches was his job and he did it wonderfully. Unlike most jobbers, Lombardi was able to establish a character that the fans enjoyed. He wasn't some nobody doing jobs while waiting for his big break. He was a full fledged heal who was always seemed confident that this week he would win. When watching Saturday morning wrestling, you knew that all the star were going to win, but there was always something extra special about the guy he was facing was Steve Lombardi. It was fun watching him lose. Sometimes you almost wished he would pull off a fluke win. Aside from that, he was also the man behind the mask of Kamala's masked handler Kimchie. He also formed a nice team with jobber team with "Iron" Mike Sharpe (another HOF worthy jobber) and the two of them started giving interviews about how they were going to be the newest tag team sensation in the WWF. He was a lot of fun. Lombardi's win/loss record may not have been that good (I only saw him win three times in my entire life) but he played an important role in the WWF and he did it perfectly. For that he should indeed be considered for the Hall of Fame. NOTE: Who ever inducts him should pin him after his speech. It would get a huge pop.

If he was inducted this year, who would do the honors? But I can't see him in there for another couple of years, especially with Hogan leaking this year's list For the record, Hogan didn't leak the list of who's getting in this year. He was on the phone with Ann Russo (John Laurinitis' secretary) and she read him the list of final candidates. There were between fifteen and twenty names, if not more, on the list.

I'll say it, hopefully for the last time, people shouldn't get in just because they're dead.

I'll say it, hopefully for the last time, people shouldn't get in just because they're dead. Couldn't agree with you more. People are making him out to be waaaaay more than he was. Let's not forget that him main-eventing a WM against a football player was nothing more than a joke publicity stunt at quite possibly the weakest WM. Guy never held one WWE title and didn't spend enough time around main events to justify being a HoF'er.

Maybe not this year but I see him in there some day. He deserves it. Probably my favorite big man of all-time.

I don't see why not.
If not this year, maybe in the future.

Not this year.
and yes, Steve Lombardi, Iron Mike Sharpe and Barry O should all be inducted. In the early-to-mid 80's, much of the televised WWF product surrounded a superstar squashing a dedicated jobber every week. SNME was probably the closest we had to today's RAW and SD style cards. Those jobbers were entertaining and should be recognised.
I also agree, I sometimes wanted to see Steve Lombardi et. al. win just for the variation. I seem to remember that Barry O did actually win a match once....
