More than likely, no. I'm not going on experience, just what THQ usually gives us. Sorry, Godz. I'm sure you cant, after the literal HOURS I spent in 2006 trying to use superplexes, Acid Drops, and tornado DDT's through tables set up near corners (yep, cant do that either, they just shove the table harmlessly aside) Is there any real reason they dont fire the brain dead chimps that work in these games and just hire me? Granted I have no programming knowledge, but, its not like the ideas I have are impossible or anything. If I had a competant staff at my disposal I could easily have the greatest wrestling game of all time created. My theory goes as such: A) They couldn't afford to hire you, or me, or anyone else who wants good details inserted into the game, because they want to keep the budget down and make sure the game comes out on time, so there's some things that never change. B) They just don't care anymore. They're embroiled in a legal dispute with WWE, and they've pretty much checked out, despite the fact that they keep adding tantilizing ideas like the Ultimate Control stuff. C) The series is moving away from wrestling fans and trying to get a wider base, thanks to increased next-gen budgets. Thus, the reasoning for reducing the amount of stuff for CAWs (make them easier for pick up and play slobs), making the gameplay less intuitive (who has time to learn weird Japanese moves, when you can slap a joystick around and throw punches!), and why the game feels more like a brawling game with a few wrestling moves. (The bad example set by Def Jam: Fight For NY) Either way, it falls into the exact direction WWE in going in: towards mediocrity.

Wow someone finally agrees with me by calling the Def Jam game a bad example. This is a day to remember.
I mean, it just pisses me off so bad, they move a little in the right direction by making the enviornment more interactive, yet......we still have the same crappy weapons as ever, lose a ton of grapple moves and taunts, etc. They actually stol-...used an idea I suggested YEARS ago by having opponents "lean" onto tables and not just lay on them when whipped into them, and by having wrestler specific table finishers, but even still the options are terribly limited. If they would just take the existing system, add singapore canes, thumbtacks, and a few more weapons, MORE GRAPPLE MOVES, stop limiting the grapple moves to certain weight classes, etc etc.....ugh.

I enjoyed the first Def Jam game, but as soon as they took it out of the ring, I knew it wasn't something I would be interested in. And now it's evolved into a brawling game, and from what I've heard about the next-gen version, it's going to get worse. I have a bad feeling that THQ is trying to do something like that to open up the audience. It's never a bad thing to appeal to more people, but I don't foresee myself following the series if it goes down the path I suspect it might.

Def Jam is only good because you beat the tard out of these stupid rappers."Oh you like to sing about how much money you have, and how much bitches you buy? BRAINBUSTAHHHH!" PS: I brought Smackdown 2 and the game is weird and bizarre. I am loving it! It´s amazing seeing how the CAW system was back then, and how is it now.

Yeah I bought the second Def Jam just long enough to drop every no talent hack rapper on their head on the concrete as many times as I could. Then I got bored with it and returned it. Its NOT the great game everyone says it is. The AI is extremely shallow and cheap, and instead of assigning moves to yourself (besides your finishers) the game picks them for you based on your fighting styles.

Yeah I know. The game got bad pretty quickly.
This and Kingdom Hearts are games that I will never take seriously. Why? They just put some characters from other places that had no place in the kind of game they are trying to sell(Wrestling, Rapper,Dysney Characters in an Action RPG) just to get more people buying it.(In KH is even worse, because they put lots of old characters of square games in then. That disrespect with their fanbase that Square shoqs made me stop buying their games.)

I was honestly looking forward to playing Kingdom Hearts because the graphics and animation looked beautiful for PS2 to me. But I waited till it became greatest hits since I'm not much of a disney fan. I'm glad I waited. I was expecting a turn based FF style RPG, but instead got a horrible platformer with action/RPG elements, and brain dead retard teammates.

Have you played the new Final Fantasy? That was my last chance for square, and as much I like the new combat system(not that much mind you. I am a old school guy.) and the storyline(And I will kick people in the nuts the next time they say "Oh it´s a Star Wars Rip Off". No it´s not. Just because Ashe can kick some ass doesn´t mean she is a Leia rip off, stop drowling about that damn metal bra you dweeb!) the game doesn´t feel like a Final Fantasy should.
I remember passing days awake playing Final Fantasy 6(3 for you americans) and having hell lots of fun with it.
Er...Anyway, I think I went out of topic here, sorry.

I've heard nothing but good things about Rogue Galaxy. You might want to give that a try sometime, Oda.

Nope, I havent played any Final Fantasy since VII. 6/3 is my favorite console game of all time, however.

Some more informaton would be very apreciated ;D! And now back to Smackdown vs. RAW 2007: Am I the only guy pissed at the new Royal Rumble? You can easily take out everbody with just one try, and Cruiserweights are eliminated easily. Again, what was THQ thinking? Playing Cruiserweights only have disvantages in this game.

I think that's exactly what they were thinking. It's an odd coincedence when two things that Vince really has no time for, cruiserweights and you creating other wrestlers, suddenly takes a nosedive in playability in the same year. Oh, and here's Rogue Galaxy. www.gametrailers.com/gamepage.php?id=2063

You know what's worse than seeing THQ not really giving a damn anymore?
The fans who keep buying it and making it a best seller, even though so many features are missing, logic is not used, and nothing really new has been done.
Course, seems like it's a choice of "Take it or Leave it".
I do hope that PWX and iMPACT turn out real good.

Hey, like I've said a thousand times....
If a good, unliscensed wrestling game came out with a good grapple system, good hardcore matches, STELLAR CAW, create an arena and custom soundtracks, I'd never buy SD again.
Or just, you know, release Fire Pro in America.

It's the same reason that Madden has fallen into mediocrity (that seems to be my buzzword for today). Speaking of PWX and Impact, did anyone notice the quick shot of the kid wearing his Official PWX "Believe" shirt last night at the PPV?

Or just, you know, release Fire Pro in America. *Cut to Spike studios over in Japan* Exec 1:<"Think we should try to put more of the Fire Pro games over in the US?"> Exec 2:<"No, they are ignorant foreign devils who keep buying the SvR games because of shiny graphics, they do not value superior gameplay mechanics"> Exec 1:<"Well, you know if we didn't cut the GM mode out of Fire Pro 2, maybe they would've bought it more"> Exec 2:<"THEIR IGNORANCE DOES NOT DESERVE A GM MODE THAT WORKS!"> At least I think it goes something like that. But yeah I'm hoping for the same things out of PWX and the iMPACT game, failing an english port of Fire Pro on one of the more current systems...without feature exclusion of course.

Yeah I know what you meant. I think they cutted the GM Mode because it was too "japanese centered", with feuds with other federations and etc.
A shame tought, the american version of the game sucks hard. The game rocks but gets old too fast.
(What kiled the game for me is that stupid Handicap matches.)

I always thought it would be cool if they put out a general wrestling game that had a crap load of match types, awesome wrestling system, customizable everything(arenas, theme songs, match rules and things) and zero wrestlers built into the game, you'd have to create them all or share them online. But it'll never happen, and it probably is too time consuming.

Hell, just made up like 30 wrestlers with kick ass attire and I would buy this game.

I keep getting my ass kicked past level two. More like "turn the computer loose on itself and watch the fun".
