On wwe.com it says they released him along with a bunch of other people. I though they were trying to build him as a heel by having him beat up Jimmy Wang Yang (after he lost the Time Trial match with him). Did he have some sort of disciplinary problem or something?

Something tells me it was the buffalo in the locker room.
But in all seriousness, the reason behind it will be found out in the next 2 days.

I think the real question is why was he rehired.

Because they realized that Ludvig Borga wasn't available for him to feud with?

The others the press release listed as fired had much less recent on-screen time than Tatanka (i.e. Gymini, Bashams, Jazz, etc.). I can't even remember Gangrel's last run (although the fact that I don't get ECW since my cable provider doesn't carry Sci-Fi may have something to do with that). I suspect more firings will come in the near future, and Scotty 2 Hotty will probably be one of the next to be canned,

Scotty's a lifer. I'd be shocked if he was let go.

It's kinda weird that his main feud when he was in the WWF years ago was with Bam Bam and on the day he gets released Bam Bam dies.

Scotty, Val, and probably Stevie will never be let go. They make other people look good and don't have ego problems.
I bet Tatanka, kind of like Animal, were upset with not getting a push and made it known backstage.

Scotty has a job for life. As does Funaki.
I'm suprised that Tatanka got canned, especially seen as he got that big push with his return and his big heel turn. Even more so with his solid matches against Jimmy Yang recently.
I am wondering why this has happened, and wondering even more why no on Raw has been fired.........

They realized that the white man will never get off his damn land and had nothing for him.

Wow, Scotty and Funaki must be either incredibly smart or incredibly lucky I don't know why they listed Al Snow as "released", since he still technically has a job for the company, though not a wrestling one.

I think his "nostalgia run" was up. And actually, for a nostalgia run it wasn't too bad. He could actually still go in the ring, for the most part.

Well, in his match with Jimmy Wang Yang on the Sprint, I could tell things weren't looking up for him. He looked particularly pudgy and out of stamina after his first move.

If that was said about everyone that got released, then the Raw roster would be MUCH smaller by now. The reasons won't leak out anyways for a few days, so let's keep those pants on, huh, people? ;D

It's kinda weird that his main feud when he was in the WWF years ago was with Bam Bam and on the day he gets released Bam Bam dies. Same thing I thought. I'm expecting IRS to get fired now too, as well as other things to happen to other favorite early-mid 1990's wrestlers.

I called this. Same run as Animal.
-Comes back. Big nostalgia trip.
-Turns into a bad guy with a new look
-Loses to everyone but picks up a win over an up and comer (Burchill and Yang)
-Released
I are smart. Knox is next.
