It's just ... Thursday doesn't seem like a 'wrestling night' to me.
While I'm just USED to watching RAW on Mondays.
Really, if the slots were reversed, I honestly can't see ANYONE going out of their way to watch RAW.
It's all habit that is keeping people from switching RAW off.

No question that Smackdown is the best show out there right now. Unfortunatlely as the title of this thread seems to suggest, it is still regarded as the WWF's B-brand and therefore doesn't get the attention that it should.
That's why I support renaming it WCW. As others have stated it already focuses more on wrestling and less on entertainment which was a WCW trademark for years. Plus the fact that the WCW/WHC World and U.S. titles are defended on that show make the transition a natural. If they can have ECW then surely they can have WCW.
Don't change the product, just the name so to get it out of the horrible shadow that is cast by RAW.

If Raw sees its shadow, it'll suck for another six weeks.

If Raw sees its shadow, it'll suck for another six weeks. Sadly Raw will most likely continue to suck for a lot longer than that.

It's more of an alternative to Raw than Impact is.

Speaking personally, Smackdown was saved by Tivo. I can't even bring myself to watch wrestling on thursdays let alone friday of all nights.
(being able to watch SD whenever I want) + (being able to fast forward commercials) = (awesome)

Raw needs PUNKsatawny Phil.
maybe not, but I thought that was a clever followup to my HI-larious groundhog day thing.

Raw needs PUNKsatawny Phil. maybe not, but I thought that was a clever followup to my HI-larious groundhog day thing. I laughed, it was clever indeed. And yes, as has been said for many reasons, SmackDown definetely is the #1 Wrestling show on TV. Has the most wrestling, has some of the best wrestling, and apart from a kind of blah US and Cruiser title scene, everything is well-represented.

I have no issue with the Friday timeslot since .... well I download it on Friday morning and watch it before I go and do anything.
But if you have to choose one show a week to watch between Raw, WWECW, iMPACT, and Smackdown it would be smackdown 10/10 times for me.

I got this thing called a vcr where I can record programming and watch it at a later time. Thus the timeslot is not an issue.
Thanks Lethalweapon for humoring my lame jokes.

How do you rate it? What are it's good points? Low points? Is the actual wrestling good? How would you rate that? Is it worth devoting two hours of my time to every week? Its an opinion really but its seems to be a consensus its a better product. I rate SD as the best televised wrestling show right now. Impact needs a two hour time slot and Team 3d to get off the mic. SD has the better talent and the writing doesn't seem to be tainted by the guys at RAW and ECW. You dont have excessive face domination either, (at least not yet). Not many feuds revolve around getting a title. Gregory Helms may be the longest reigning cruiserweight champion, but he doesnt even defend it. Eddie needs to stop being used in storylines. The wrestling is solid that all I can say. But the WWE safe style takes away from a lot of things. I dont really devote my time to it, but

Thanks Lethalweapon for humoring my lame jokes. *In clueless friend voice, a la infomercials* Wow, that sounds so easy! But an invention that good must come at a hefty price. How much does this "Vee Cee Are" cost? *hands on waist, skeptical look*

Best televised wrestling right now bar none says me. My first thought too. If I'm home I just about always watch Smackdown, at least the first half hour or hour.
