The Rumbles sure aren't what they used to be

My biggest complaint about the match is that for all the time Hogan and Savage are in the ring together, they literally have ZERO interaction. They never touch, look at each other, or even fight the same guy together. I was hoping they'd either team up or fight at some point. And, and I never saw the original PPV broadcast, only edited versions so I've never heard the fabled booing of Hogan at the end. People were actually cherring Sid over Hogan, and yet Hogan still gave that look like he had the fans in his palm. he did probably cos he knew they would edit it later and put cheers in (I heard they did that for replays of the incident the the weeks after it ) also think on it, Flair came into the WWF with the big gold belt around his waist, claiming to be the real world champion, people who didn't follow/didn't care about NWA probably dismissed him a lil thinking "hes not as good as Hogan" and stuff like that and give alot of his matches were just against midcarders leading to the rumble it would be hard to disagree, yet he came in and basicly showed that he earned the right to be the real world champion, thats what makes it special to me anyway I think the reason Hogan did get Boo'ed was the actions he took after being eliminated because its everyman for himself and he has thrown out friends in the past ( Savage was eliminated despite being his partner in the megapowers ) it was something a heel would do, it made hogan look petty and another note, Hogans promo before it was quiteintense..and to be honest was borderline heelish, talking about how Jack Tuney stripped HIM of HIS title and how he was basicly angry at the whole thing..that with the Sid thing, it LOOKED like they were gonna turn Hogan heel, but someone, either Vince or Hogan himself pulled the plug on it

I put the 92 rumble on the level with the 2004 rumble, both were perfect if you're as big a fan of the winner as I am. Bobby Heenan is the highlight for me of '92, I'm hoping with JBL on commentary we'll have a similar kind of feel, almost seemed like Heenan was in the rumble himself the way he was struggling through the whole thing, I loved it.

The reason why that Rumble is so good also is that it is for the title! So that ups the ante a lot with knowing that a handfull of people can walk out of the areana the champ. come That only had a part to do with it. It was also do to the fact that it featured more main event talent than any other Rumble. HOLLYWOOD HULK HOGAN Ric Flair Roddy Piper Kerry Von Eric Sgt Slaughter The Iron Shiek Jimmy Snuka Davy Boy Smith Sid Vicious Shawn Michaels Tito Santana Jake Roberts Undertaker Randy Savage Nicholai Volkolf Ted DeBiasie Greg Valentine Mike Rotundo (Irwin R. Schyster) Rick Martel Big Bossman ...among others. There were very few wrestlers that you just flat out couldn't see winning. That was very important because it ment that almost anyone could win it. That couldn't happen today. Hell the fact that todays Rumbles are for a WrestleMania title shot totaly minimizes who could possibly win. Every year there are only three or 4 possible winners which makes the rest of the Rumble a drag. Perhaps if they got rid of the WrestleMania match and instead made the Rumble for a World title match on TV -- and therefore anyone could win it -- it would become exciting again. well what if it was more like a MITB sorta thing where it could be cashed in anytime? I'd like to see someone come in between the numbers 11 and 19 and win it..a midway guy..cos they NEVER win it..ever

But I agree they should have someone with a mediocre draw win it because it's less predictable. They should also stop worrying about breaking the longest time ever record every year. Let the record stand for a while. And quit having the person who lasts the longest win the Rumble. It more of a rush to see that guy finally get eliminated than to see him win it.

My favorite moments (besides Flair) are Jake Roberts relaxing in the corner Raven-stylee as Piper has the sleeper on Flair, Roberts (again!) bolting out of the ring and hiding under the apron as Macho Man runs down the aisle, and Sid helping to eliminate Crybaby Hogan. There was a sizable amount of anti-Hogan sentiment at that Rumble, including a visible fan sign.

They don't even come to the ring in 2 minute intervals anymore do they? Isn't is every 90 seconds now? One year it was every 60 seconds. That really sucked.

Especially if it's Rey Mysterio winning after drawing #1 AND lasting the longest, despite sitting in the corner and doing nothing for 45 minutes.
