According to Dave Scherer, the main culprits in the recent de-push for C.M. Punk are WWE agents Arn Anderson and Fit Finlay.
Punk is currently in the doghouse as he disagreed with the layout of the Elimination Chamber match with Arn Anderson and Michael Hayes who were the producers for it. For last week's ECW T.V., Dave Lagana had written that Punk should get Holly in his vice finisher and Holly should turn over, grab a rope and pin Punk.
In the production meeting when the T.V. was being put together, the whole room turned on Punk when Lagana told them his idea. Arn Anderson especially was against him, saying that Holly should make Punk pay his dues as he's just "Heyman's guy" and not any good so Holly shouldn't need to cheat to pin him. Anderson also said Punk was only over because Heyman fluked it and it shouldn't be happening. Punk was personally told by Anderson that "after 14 years on being on WWE televison, Holly is the bigger star" as an explanation why the heel should pin the babyface clean. The actual finish was came up by Finlay.
Additionally, while of course Heyman is a fighter when it comes to trying to get his ideas over, the new ECW writer Dave Lagana is more of a laid back guy who just wants to go with the flow, so Anderson and Finlay have had a much easier time getting Punk booked to look weak.
It was also reported that Punk's first loss was originally going to occur through a ref bump-type screwjob, but Finlay and Anderson once again got the match changed to the clean loss for Punk.

Whatever the case may be, ending the streak of someone who has the potential to be a huge star for your company to HARDCORE HOLLY is completely mind boggling. ..Then again, Holly and Test are like the only heels in ECW (*snicker*) so I guess it's bad news either way.
..I wish Punk would go to Smackdown.

Maybe Heyman's insistence on pushing Punk just rubbed people the wrong way. But for Chrissakes, he's OVER. Is there any reason NOT to capitalize on a YOUNG, RISING, OVER STAR?!?
And how come every single freaking heel in WWE has to win with cheating EXCEPT Hardcore Holly? Just because he's been there for a long time doesn't mean squat if he's still a nobody.
Rar. Wrestling politics are baffling, I suppose. If Punk's push is coming to an end, so are my attempts to watch ECW.

IF this is true, you´re right but I doubt this story...Holly has to go over Punk cause he´s been on TV for 14 years? then why did Flair have to job for almost the whole RAW roster in the past years? nope, sir, I don´t believe this

And I thought there were no smart people working for WWE.
Holly is a legit tough guy and I'm glad he's starting to get his dues. Punk is decent, but really people he's not WWE main event material yet. He needs a few years and 20lbs.

Got to love petty politics in wrestling. Punk's probably one of the best wrestlers around and most of the guys he faces, including Holly, are beneath him.

Punk should not have lost to Holly. Ever. The only people Holly should beat are jobbers.
I love how Holly's 14 years in WWF/WWE are brought up and yet he's still not in the least bit over.

For starters, Punk was being pushed as undefeated-and they killed that push on FREE TV with NO buildup whatsoever. People may have paid to see if Punk would lose or not (I personally wouldn't, as as much as I love Punk, I despise Holly more than anyone), and because Arn and Finlay don't believe that Punk's over (despite being cheered over Triple H, Shawn Michaels, and both Hardyz) they throw away not only revenue (it's pathetic when I describe a match featuring Hardcore Holly a "money match") but also make Punk to look absolutely horrible.

"after 14 years on being on WWE televison, Holly is the bigger star"
Ok, did I miss something? When did Holly won any heat?
I only have respect for the man but good lord, he isn´t over. Punk outpopped DX, and he was getting solid reactions.
He could be the future. He could be the rose that rised from the feces. But I foresee some bad things for Mr. Punk, if this rumours are true.
