It's very hard for me to choose between 97 and 98 because I enjoyed them both as I mentioned in another thread. But also as I mentioned in another thread. I watched 97 live and 98 years and years after. Like I stated before Iv'e never been more ecstatic over a ppv main event like Sting vs. Hogan. And again I'll say as a pro WWF fan at the time. I would have never dreamed of buying a WCW ppv if it wasn't for the awesome build up to this one in particular. The way Bischoff made us the fans crave for Sting to return for this epic battle was pure genius. The match itself was disapointing for many reasons that I'm sure you've all heard. But the ending is one of my favorite PPV endings and an unforgettable one at that. For all these reasons and more 1997 gets my vote, with 1998 just a hair behing as the runner up. Iv'e actually never seen the 2000 Starrcade. And have been craving to see that main even for quite sometime. As I heard it was pretty darn good. If anyone knows somewhere I can watch it on the internet help me out. In the meantime feel free to share your opinions about the biggest events of an organization that has come to pass.

Goldberg/Nash was awesomly excellent. Sting/Hogan is the greatest disappointment in wrestling thanks to Nick Patrick.

Hogan/Sting might have been one of the most aticipated main event of all time. So that wins hands down. That basically had 4 years of build. From Hogan coming and getting a huge push and Sting getting a huge depush. Than the hinting of Sting joining nWo in 1996 but was false and the beginning of the the coolest gimmick in my opinion "Crow" Sting, because he was hurt that someone so pro-WCW would join them. Than the climax which was slightly disappointing but still good. None of the other feuds come close to that.

Sting/Hogan was highly anticipated and perfectly built up to ... then bombed miserably. Looking back I really enjoyed Nash/Goldberg when it happened, so I guess I have to go with that. But I don't think any of the 5 were good per say.

No other WCW segment had ever got me to turn it on during a Raw segment before this one. Everything from Fall Brawl 96 till the moments leading up to the Starrcade showdown. were great examples of how cutting edge Bischoff was. It's an absolute shame that he let poltics get in the way of what might just have been wrestling's finest moment.

I honestly thought this would be a joke poll before I clicked on it. All of these Starrcade main events were awful.

I just watched Goldberg vs Nash, and it was really better than it had any right to be.
WCW has a nasty habit of having its PPV main events way shorter than they should be, but this was still good.

I honestly thought this would be a joke poll before I clicked on it. All of these Starrcade main events were awful. Seconded. I can think of MANY MANY undercard matches better than this crap. Juventud Guerrera vs Kidman vs Rey Mysterio Jr in a triple threat match for the cruiserweight title for instance.

I went with Sting/Hogan just for the hype alone, that match was a complete flop. My second choice would have been Hart/Goldberg, this match had potential to be huge and it was a decent match, but by this time WCW had lost most of it's audience.
