This was right after Kerry's motorcycle accident and Gino Hernandez's death which spiraled the decline of world class. It was still going fairly strong when this match took place but by '87 culminating with the death of Mike Von Erich, the promotion never recovered

I watched it religiously back in the day. It was by far and wide, my favorite promotion of all time. I also think this match took place around the time when Bruiser Brody had the Red River Jack gimmick, although that might have been '87 (or possibly late '86) because that is around when the Dingo Warrior turned face
