Independent Wrestling Match Question?

Ok so I attended a local Indy show tonight...just lookin too see how the lower budget Indies style compares to some of the bigger Indies and even the WWE ir TNA or whatever. I'll write a review of it in a few minutes.


Anyway my question is why do they put out such a crappy style for?....I mean of course anyone goin there isn't goin to look for the best there is buty they are goin to have their loyal fans so why not put on great matches to get more audience on down the road? Is it like this for the small budget indies or is it just me?

What specific indy were you at? A lot of indies have mostly inexperienced workers going for it, so of course the match quality isn't gonna be anywhere near TNA or WWE level, and especially not ROH level.

It's a little harsh comparing them to the *main* companies when they have all the top guys

There are diffrent levels of indy promotions. The superior ones are PWG, Chikara and ROH. These more to me follow the more Japanese or Mexican style and look crisper and in my opinion way more enjoyable.

With lower Indies yes they aren't pretty but you do not expect that. Most of those guys don't get paid alot or paid. So I wouldn't judge them harshely and just relax and have fun. Don't expect Chikara or ROH because you will be disappointed.

Well said, thank you. Another point is that many small local indy feds are really just hobby feds for fun, especially in rural areas. I'm connected to one of these, we even have a t shirt for the wrestlers that says "This Is What I Do Instead Of Bowling." The crowd is basically the family and friends of the wrestlers, and the wrestlers are not at all guys expecting a future in the business.
