I was watching the Bret Hart tribute video contributed here and it made me think of a good topic to ask about...What are some of your favorite none finishing set up moves performed by one specific wrestler...Not a move in general but who stood out the most performing this move...
for me it was these two guys with these two moves
Bret Hart 1. The double ax handle drop 2. The Russian leg sweep
Everytime I see those moves I instantly think of Bret...and when Austin adapted the double ax drop I actually accepted it because of their Wrestlemania encounter
Razor Ramon 1. The abdominal stretch 2. The fall away slam

These are set as moves that many many wrestlers perform but who does it the best and which normal move automatically makes you think of which superstar

Whenever anyone hits a german I think of benoit. totally agree with you there man and for me the piledriver and ddt will always make me think of lawler/bret and jake/raven accordingly...I know I said no finishing moves but now a days these are transition moves...

A good D.D.T. always makes me think of Jake "The Snake."

The Rock's Spinebuster was crazy looking! Even more brutal than when Arn Anderson did it, IMO.

The Rock's Spinebuster was crazy looking! Even more brutal than when Arn Anderson did it, IMO. Ditto any of his DDT's, he just hit them so fast that I thought the poor sap who took one would be dead on the spot.

Madusa's front dropkick off the middle turnbuckle. It just seemed so much more plausible as an easier move to hit, with plenty of impact behind it. She didn't take forever to climb the ropes, just up and BAM.
Hurrichokeslam.

Triple H's chinbreaker and high running knee are good ones too. I like Shawn Michaels' atomic drop/clotheslines as well.

Remember Jericho's double powerbomb? That was good, he rarely used it though.
I liked his double-arm backbreaker, too.

I loved Scott Halls chokeslam and second rope back suplex could have been a finisher in its self. Ahmed Johnsons spinebuster off the ropes looked better then Batista's does now IMO.

All of Rob Conway's awesome neckbreaker variations. Good luck seeing them, though.
