So with all the Backlund talk going on, I was wondering what people think his deal is.
I've read that wrestlers have claimed that he acts that way backstage. I dont know if he's trying to "work the boys" or what, but he seems like he's a little too out there to be completely acting.

I said all a work, but lookin' back on Foley's biography, and reading about Backlund's politics I'd say a lil' of both but it's 80% worked

It's just himself amplified 100%. Like The Rock is Dwayne Johnson amplified, and Steve Austin is Steve Williams amplified.
That's how he can pull it off so well. And since portions of it are actually him he seems crazy when he actually does some of the things his character does.

I saw one of his old commercials from his Congressional run 7 years ago, and you could see him break down and laugh pretty normally at one point before they cut away.
It's a work.
Or at least it was 7 years ago and maybe he's really gone nuts since...
