Hell, TNA did the same fireball thing about 2-3 weeks ago when James Mitchell blinded Sting. I didn't see Spike getting scared of that.

Hell, TNA did the same fireball thing about 2-3 weeks ago when James Mitchell blinded Sting. I didn't see Spike getting scared of that. Like i said in the fireball video thread. MTV is run by a bunch of pussbags who can't defend their product. So much for being counter-culture. And again, that was my major misgiving about MTV. Anytime they even try to do something relatively (or potentially in this case) good, they end up cancelling it for whatever reason. Just like Clone High...

I look at WSX as the Plan 9 From Outer Space of wrestling shows. I know it's garbage, but it's that very characteristic that makes it so great. The show's over-the-top silliness (the explosions, camera rattling, that crackhead ring announcer, etc.) makes it absolutely hilarious to me, and I often wonder if that was the producers' intention-- one giant, silly spotfest packaged as a big in-joke for smarks. I'm pretty sure that the majority of MTV's normal viewing audience wouldn't understand the humor of "Matt Classic."
So, to me, WSX definitely falls into the "so bad it's good" category. It DOES suck, and it IS stupid, and that's exactly why I love it. ;D
I hope that it sticks around for a little while.

So the "edgy" material MTV cancels WSX for is a 20-YEAR OLD SPOT!?! Ridiculous.

It was lame then to me, but back in the day when something like this happened they would show a shot of the audience or an unrelated still image. I remember in WWF it happened a few times with the perfume in the eyes spot, and I remember it happened in the GWF. I actually have a fireball spot from the NWA in '86 on tape that was replayed in S L O W M O T I O N with Jim Cornette throwing one in Ronnie Garvin's. Pretty cool. This show is edited straight to hell anyway, why can't they just cut away during the spot and just explain what happened? Weaksauce.

But in all reality.. yes WSX is returing its WWE's NEWEST BRAND!! its going to be aired on Thursday nights on SciFi.. WRONG! WWE's found a new partner, and an even NEWER breed is about to be unleashed. WSX! Starring Rachael Ray and Kris Kloss, Thursdays at 10 PM, only on the Food Network.

Let's hope WWE signs Matt Classic! If they do (and, they actually use the Matt Classic character, which would be awesome), every single ROH smark will whine and complain because "Colt's being used wrong" or some such crap. Great way to generalize, but you're wrong, you could say things like that about every WWE fan or every TNA fan when their favorite is being misused in their eyes. I'm an "ROH smark" whatever that means, don't see how it's worse than being a smark like we all are here. I was just glad to see him on Raw and Velocity early last year, even if it's in a minor role, so no not everyone would feel that way.

What I meant by ROH Smark is the pricks who dump on everything that isn't Ring of Honor and think that wrestlers are only good when they are in an ROH ring. I know that that not every ROH fan is like that, but there are quite a few out there. I am truly sorry that it pissed you off. Maybe I should come up with a better term for it. How does ROH Whore sound?

How can a channel that aired Jackass, Viva La Bam, and Wildboys be bothered by a fireball? Besides, this was filmed so long ago that they could have done something about it (aka, editing) a long, long, long time ago.

Now they have something to sell when they put out the WSX dvd. "See the match that was TOO HOT for network tv!" Maybe that was the plan.

Hell, why don't they just edit the show to make that match the "dark match" that they put online?

I hate when they take shows away because some stupid hugs have to imitate it and sue. These claims don't hold up in court anyway so why bother. Besides, we don't need another dumbass on this planet anyway.
