Nice shot of the Taker, making look to be about 20 feet tall.

Nice to see the first guy he ever fought in WWF was Bret Hart. A real sign of things to come for both really.

I remember seeing the guy wrestle as "Mean" Mark Callous on old NWA/WCW house shows. Now I feel old. I also remember seeing that Terra Ryzing guy fight Sting in a houseshow main event. Ah, good times.

I remember seeing the guy wrestle as "Mean" Mark Callous on old NWA/WCW house shows. Now I feel old. I also remember seeing that Terra Ryzing guy fight Sting in a houseshow main event. Ah, good times. Yeah, I remember him wrestling as Mean Mark Callous on NWA/WCW television, and then it seemed like the next week he was on WWF television as The Undertaker. I remember saying to myself, "Oh man, this looks stupid. This will never last." And of course I was wrong. I also remember going to see the former Terra Ryzing wrestle as Jean Paul Levesque at a house show at The Target Center taking on Das Wunderkind Alex Wright. And at the match whoever had set up the ring screwed up tightening a turnbuckle, and Mr. Levesque took a sick bump outside the ring when he got Irish whipped into the ropes and the top rope gave way, sending him to the floor. It looked like he hit quite hard, but to his credit he came back to the ring and finished the match after they had made repairs. And he lost to Alex Wright, which was just a short period of time before he made the move to the WWF. I just can't believe to this day that Bischoff and co thought that Alex Wright was more marketable, and that they couldn't market Steve Austin so they canned him. Great business decisions there.

Yes, Piper was the short-term replacement for Jesse Ventura who left in the summer of 1990. He worked a few PPV's plus the weekly shows (Superstars) until 1991.
The weird thing about that clip is that it's 16+ years ago. It doesn't seem that long at all. I've watched this many times on tape, and I still sometimes don't fully appreciate how great of a character this turned out to be. Very historic.

I keep forgetting that was his original theme music, with no gong, and actual funeral home organs.
