I guess the rumor I heard a while back is true, MTV hires "good looking" people to be in the crowd cause they dont want "ugly" people on their show. The peoples' reactions are so fake. they look like really bad infomercial actors. Stupid MTV. Like 50% of the crowd is really gonna be hot chicks going to a wrestling show.

I heard that too, but then lots of the people have WWE wrestling shirts, so that kinda threw me off. I don't know. And lots of them ARE kinda ugly.

Actually on the first show (the only WSX show I've seen so far) I looked for pretty people and was surprised to see so many ghostly land whales in the audience. I think MTV goes for "young" more than "good looking," although I doubt these are regular indy fans or even WWE fans.

I think pretty much everything is staged on WSX, but it's that way on purpose. The fact that they specifically have the show divided up into episodes and seasons seems to indicate that it is more of a Produced TV show than an actual wrestling exhibition. Like I read that they aren't selling tickets or anything, they basically just put together a crowd much like the rest of the show is put together.
Besides with some of the stunts like the explosions being post-produced, it makes sense to have the crowd in on the act as well. Like if someone was supposed to explode but the explosion doesnt get added until later, the crowd still needs to act all shocked as opposed to everyone with the WTF face.

Tickets were available on the WSX site and were given out for free if you requested them.

yeah. They're definatley weren't "pretty" for the most part. But really, I could care less who th audience is, unless its an all asian girl crowd. Then I could never pay attention to the show.

Meh, I can throw a rock out my window and hit a wrestling fan, being one doesnt make em special however not shuting up during the whole shooting time only to put your chants over does make em "special", more so when they chant for guys trying to play heels to the point jeers need to be piped in.
This crowd is very easy to ignore, the impact idiots are not. Ill take a hot girl that knows noting about wrestling faking an apropiate reaction on cue over a fat morron swinging a towel during the whole shooting time just so he can pinpoint himselve on tv any day. I just see the WSXtras as props like the rest of the faux dirty stage.

At least WSX doesn't compare themselves to WWE every few minutes like TNA

also I belive I saw a guy wearing a ROH shirt today on WSX.
and on the very first show you can see someone wearing a juggalo shirt, so you know he's not pretty.

For the WSX tapings the wrestling fans who requested the free tickets were restricted to the balcony and on the ring camera side. The rest of the place was reserved for the "aspiring actors, actresses, and models", although some legit wrestling fans got ringside if they completley marked out constantly and clapped throughout every match.

someone already said it, but MTV is making a TV show, not a wrestling promotion.
Originally, i had a problem with the whole "pretty thing" but it's clear that this is not meant to be a real promotion but rather a wrestling themed TV show. Just enjoy it for what it is and not hate it for what it isn't.

This may be the case, but if it is then it sounds like the absolute worst way to produce a wrestling show

I saw a couple creepy looking guys sporting JCW and Insane Clown gear. I don't think anyone would willingly plant either of those guys on camera if they could help it. No doubt you see the plants, but it's not 100% composed of those people.
