Anybody else notice the ironic nickname and ring attire of HBK?
He's the HeartBreak Kid and wore broken hearts on his trunks, and his Rival Bret Hart wore regular Hearts on his trunks.
Was this similarity intentional or coquencidental?
Originally he was "the Boy Toy" and wore tiger stripe spotted pants.
Also why the hell didn't they, or did they ever, play up the nickname and attire in the Hart fued? They were considered complete opposites. It made perfect sense.
It the whole thing was inadvertent it was incredibly ironic.

It wasn't really a rivalry as I remember, post-WM8, Shawn had numerous title matches around the country against Hart. As for the tights, just coincidence, nothing more really. They may have made a comment about in passing, but nothing to warrant any big deal about. |

That was quite a coincidence. The first time I saw Shawn's "Heartbreak Hotel" setup, I thought he was paying tribute to the Hitman. Then I heard what he had to say...
He angered me at the time, but HBK was one of wrestling's all-time best heels. He angered me for all the right reasons (he played the part well), and not the wrong ones (he was far from a 'poor' wrestler).

I thought HBK's tights were weird footprint patterns myself. I would always mark when he would bring out a new color. The orange ones he wore on Raw were a favorite of mine.
