To be fair, you know what it costs to have anyone say "Lets get ready to rumble" or a variation thereof (even DX's Lets get ready to suck it) without his precense and approval? $10,000. Now, would you, as a business man, pay $10,000 for a Rick Rude match? Try $250,000 for the rights to even say "Let get ready to......." (I ain't got the kind of cash to type it), for an appearance its more. And I believe, Trips version falls under parody laws which make it free game.

And don't even get me started on Todd Grisham overdubbing Michael Buffer (seriously). LMAO. That's ridiculous.

I think its $10,000 to say In God We Trust, becuase some genius actually copryrighted that, which is insanely awesome. And you would think that Trips version would be fair game, but last I knew, nope.

I agree, simply cut out the intros and go straight to the match if the theme music is such an issue. Seems like the logical solution. I have WrestleMania III on tape that does that for almost all the matches except Hogan/Andre. It didn't ruin the tape at all.

What the hell did the World Wildlife Fund get out of this anyway. Does anybody associate WWF with them? does anybody care about them? Dude, seriously. No one gets a shit about them. If you asked 10 people what WWF was I bet you anything all of them would say its the wrestling company... ...and with all the money Vince made from the Wrestlemania thing the least he could do is get the logos unblurred and maybe the rights to the song again...

You silly its the older one so its ok. Sure it's the old one, and I would have loved to have seen some of the intros that they cut out (Savage and Steamboat in particular), but it would have been worse if they showed the intros but dubbed over the music. What they did was show what lead up to the matches, and then went right to when the bell rang to start the match, and put a graphic up that said "wrestler A vs. wrestler B. with stipulation". It didn't really hurt the tape as much as I thought it would (though they did include intros for Jake and Honky, as well as a few others, but didn't do it for most of the others, which perplexed me a bit). If intros are so important that fans wouldn't accept that type of set-up, then it shows just how important the entrance is, and that has more to do with theme music than anything else. I don't buy WWE produced DVD's (and never will), so it doesn't really effect me, but I can see where a lot of people are coming from here.

But that would probably mean that Vince would have to admit that the Federation did wrong when they broke the agreement they had with the Fund, and I don't see him doing that, even though it would save them a bunch of money and work when they wouldn't need to blur out logos on future DVDs.

WWF did release WM3 in the late 90's on VHS as part of a collector's set which had the whole show in its entirety on tape w/intros and extra interviews. I believe Savage got a face pop during his intro and entrance towards the ring that night, which was even made mention of on commentary by Monsoon/Ventura. I prefer getting the original PPV or at least Home Video version from that time period as it's authentic and not dubbed over or tampered with.

why didnt wwe settle the copyright thing the way they settle arguments, haircuts, who to fire, money issues, the pecking order of who should get an opportunity to get a promotion, and even child custody disputes- IN THE RING!

They had to fit everything into around 3 hours, and I'm sure the actual event lasted much longer than that (w/ intros and stuff). My only issue was having intros for certain matches and not others. They spent almost an hour on Hogan/Andre (understandably), but they would flip flop on intros. Jake/Honky got it, I believe Piper's entrance was shown, and maybe some others, but a lot wasn't shown either. Didn't really take away from the event, though I would have loved to see Savage and Steamboat's entrances. I don't like the re-released ones because it has the scratch logo on the bottom left of the screen. I know that sounds too nit picky, but that's an eye sore for me. I prefer Coliseum Video releases. Obviously the live versions would be the best, but unless you taped them yourself or know a good tape trader, that's not the most realistic purchase.

I feel this is worth re-posting. Read the description carefully! shopzone.wwe.com/Product_detail.asp?cat=cat-belts&productId=06-00786 And if anyone has the March issue of WWE Magazine (with Batista on the cover), flip to the "Solid Gold" article and check out the picture of the Hardcore Title. I think something's there that shouldn't be...
