There has been alot of debate about which WCW and WWF title belts were the best, which one's were ugliest, which one's looked more prestigious, etc. However, I haven't seen alot of talk about the ECW title belts. To the best of my knowledge, ECW went through three different versions of their championships. The one's they were using when they first broke away from the NWA had a definite old school look to them (at least in my opinion) and I seem to recall one of them was actually missing a plate or two. But then, when they started to grow and actually put out PPV's, they utilized much more contemporary title belts, and I remember thinking that the TV title of that period was a blatant rip-off of the old WWF eagle title belt. And then finally, during their last few years, they started to use the "hardcore" looking belts that we saw when ECW last was on the air. But which version of these belts was the best?
In my opinion, it was the last ones. These belt's had a much different look and feel to them, which is exactly what ECW was all about. They were a welcome departure from the title belts that the WWF and WCW were using a the time, and if no on else has noticed, various other indy feds all over the country, XPW in particular, all copied their design. It almost makes me wonder what happened to the belts ECW was using beforehand.

I love all of ECW's belts just because they stood for something different. I think I understand why the E must be the E, but the "spirit of competition" and "anything could happen" feelings seem kind of void in modern E events. How important is a script in the end? More important than the wrestling?
