I was watching Smackdown tonight, and when Hardy hit the twist of fate, Mercury landed really weird. He almost looked legit knocked out. Anyone know what happened?

He seemed to botch the fall. He didn't originally come close to hitting the mat but he put his face there to sell it better. That's what I got out of it.

That's the second time Mercury has taken it like that. It's like a stunner on The Rock.

I think it was supposed to sell that he fell on his nose again.

He missed the mat when Hardy first hit it and had to make up for it by planting his head in the mat

I think it was supposed to sell that he fell on his nose again. Exactly. Mercury didn't act legit injured afterwards anyways, and we haven't heard any injury reports on him either. I guess he just decided to sell it rather awkwardly to give the impression that he landed right on his nose.

Yeah, he has been selling his facial injuries. Every time he wrestles and takes a forward falling bump watch and he always tries to make it look like he hits face first. Even on punches, he grabs his fast instead of acting like he has been staggered.

There was that weird inverted atomic drop/spinebuster thing at the beginning too.

He simply sold it in a unique fashion because Joey Mercury is good like that

Joey just hasn't been the same since his face was torn off.

It was a weird landing, but I think he has done that before. That 6-man tag was good, even they seem to have 6-man matches every week on SD! now.

That's the way the Twist should be sold IMO- straight down ,face first, spiking you into the mat. Mercury is great, I'm still pulling for a Tag TLC at Mania.
