Yeah, I don't really start many topics but I just got to thinking. WWE really does seem pretty good/great at the moment when you think about it. I mean, you'll watch it and you WILL be entertained at the moment in one way or another (I'm sure i'll get some people saying ''OMG WWE SUCKZ''.)
For a start, with the exception of Batista at present (who may start to come back into his own soon, or i'm just stupid), Smackdown is one brilliant show. I can honestly say I look forward to watching it every single weekend. I remember not too long ago, i'd sit painfully through that show and feel so emo I could have slashed ''WE WANT ROCKY'' into my forehead with a switchblade. But nowadays, they really seem to have turned it round. With sensible booking being the backbone for this excellent piece of television.
Next up, we have Raw. Well I know i'm treading into dangerous waters here, but this show still seems pretty entertaining. Being the flagship show of the company, us fellow wee internet fans are bound to see little things that we don't like. Then we're bound to come on a message board AND TYPE IN BLOCK CAPITALS BECAUSE WE'RE SO DAMN ANNOYED. However, we really seem to be seeing some good TV at the moment from the likes of Edger, Orton, Cena (Yeah, now I know you just punked out the monitor), HBK and most of the midcard.
ECW seems to be quite the controversial subject at the moment, for no real reason may I add, it's just damn annoying for some people who get annoyed too damn easily. Whilst Vince may have turned everyone against Lashley, we have seen the rise of CM Punk and the seemingly awesome New Breed/Originals storyline.
So yeah, all in all everything looks to be pretty cool going into Wrestlemania. I'm sure people won't agree with my opinions here, but hey that's what a forum is for.

I will say, WWE has been worse than this at times

I agree. I never thought Raw would be a better show than Smackdown but it's true.

I stopped watching Raw shortly after Unforgiven, cos' I just found it unwatchable.
Last week I watched it for the first time since, and it was a really solid show.
Though the WWE are notorious for having a strong start to the year, and then go downhill.

I agree with the original post. I love Double Double E, and it has been pretty entertaining lately, and I'm always intrigued about what they will do next, particularly with some of my favourites.
Also, I'm looking forward to the days when Mr. Kennedy becomes a major star. And they seem to be building towards that, so I'm cool. Cool like Carlito

It isn't anywhere near great, and there are some matches building for 'Mania that I have no interest in whatsoever, but it certainly is improving and is a lot better in several aspects than it has been over the past few months.

WrestleMania is coming, so they're obviously trying to put on a good show.
Usually it's after SummerSlam things begin to go downhill...

WWE has been good for the past 50 years... but that's OK.

I still enjoy both shows, but Cena and Batista have gotten real stale for me. I need more surprises, shake it up a bit...everything seems very safe right now.

Yeah, WWE is pretty damn good right now. They finally ended the face-dominated period of time and gave the heels momentum. For me, that's always a plus. I mark for heels. Anyway, outside of that, WWE still is good. The matches and other things in the shows are great right now.

However, we really seem to be seeing some good TV at the moment from the likes of most of the midcard. Edge and Orton haven't entertained me since... well, Edge had gazoos then, so Orton wasn't there... Cena's the same as before (except he sells in the ring and does the miracle recovery thing - he's better in that aspect than the whole I get pwned but I sure ain't gonna sell it). HBK, seriously, needs someone to be with in order to look good (on the mic, in the ring I've got nothing to say about him). On the stick, his solo promos always end up being the same promo every week, tailored to his opponent. People've made that complaint about Flair's matches, I make it with HBK's promos. HBK/Cena, however, I have to admit, was good. And both men have a knack for comedy. I stress that the midcard on RAW is actually pretty goddamned entertaining, because apparantly, someone at the office didn't get the memo.

I agree with WWE being good at the moment. The PPV's had more motivation because of D2D, and the shows themselves are quite solid, with main events being PPV quality. I hope Bats does not win at Wrestlemania, but thats me, and I hope JBL could do more solo stuff on commentary.

As far as Raw goes, I 'd probably like it a lot better if Cena made a heel turn. I never have spoken ill of the man, mostly because I think he's capable of more than what he currently does in the ring; I think he usually puts on the match he's expected to-- if that makes any sense. But Cena was just so much better as a heel. ONS 2006 was a great reminder of that; like him or not, he played off that crowd perfectly. ...we have seen the rise of CM Punk and the seemingly awesome New Breed/Originals storyline. If I had any faith that that storyline might turn out equal (making both sides look good) instead of just being Invasion 2007, I'd be much less critical of the show. It might seem silly to some folks, but for a lot of fans (myself included), the original ECW really was/is near and dear to our hearts. It's tough to deal with change in something you love. So, we're not just trying to be elitist pricks, smarks, or whatever you might call it; instead, we're just venting our frustrations. I'm sorry that you have to see us piss and moan about it, but we really aren't bad people-- just cynical ones. It's true.

^ Don't get me wrong, i've seen alot of the old ECW and to be honest, it means a lot to me. I just had to get used to the fact we weren't gonna get the hardcore cool ECW of old simply because it's owned by WWE nowadays.

hmm suprised by how many are agreeing with you... its been like 4 months since i watched raw or smackdown after finally getting sick of both of them. I watched 1 raw and it had a fake donald trump on it so that was the final nail in the coffin for me.
Been watching wwe almost 100% since 1989 and for me it is at the worst it has ever been.

It's decent, too bad to me, the Mr. Perfect HOF video package has been the highlight. I miss Curt and all his perfection, bah gawd. I wish I could see him throw his little towel at someone just once more.

To each his own. These shows need work. It ain't what it used to be and I don't think fans should have to settle. I remember ENTIRE shows being good, not this match and that. If you're diggin' it, more power to you. My personal belief is the Double Double E needs fixin'.
