Anyone have any tips on somehow getting a decent match against the AI?
In the past smackdown games, I've had awesome and memorable matches with guys like Rey and most of the cruizerweights now I can barely do anything to them without having them completley written off for the rest of the match.

Set it on Legend, turn Finisher damage a long way down, AI Reversal/Reaction to full, and Player Reversal/Reaction down a bit. Give them openings every now and then even when you don't need to. That's how I tend to do it.

Here's some settings that a friend of mine on another board posted.
Here's the settings that have provided me with much drama and gnashing of teeth:
KO: OFF Give Up: ON DQ: ON Ring out count: 10 Ring Out: ON Interference: ON Escape from Cage Door: ON
Difficulty: Hard Momentum Charge Speed: Normal Start out mini games: OFF Superstar name bars: OFF Targeting Indicators: OFF Camera Cuts: ON Stamina System: ON Reversal help indicator: OFF
Frequency of Com's usage: Default in the middle is 10 clicks. Stand Strike Reversal: 9 (-1) Standing Grapple reversal: 9 (-1) Ground strike reversal: 9 (-1) Ground grapple reversal: 9 (-1) Finisher reversal: 11 (+1) Weapon attack reversal: 0 Stealing Finisher: 0 Sub A reaction: 9 (-1) Sub B reaction: 9 (-1)
Damage Balance Finisher Attack Power: 4 (-6) Weapon Attack Power: 0 (10) Backstage Brawl damage: 11 (+1)
Game Balance: This lowers ( I think, it seems that way through testing) the window of opportunity for reversals. The lower the number, the more precise the command must be. I'm trying to figure if this applies to human as well as cpt or is it human vs human.
Standing strike reversal: 8 (-2) Standing grapple reversal: 8 (-2) Ground strike reversal: 8 (-2) Ground grapple reversal: 8 (-2) Finisher reversal: 8 (-2) It just too easy to reverse Finishers with the default setting. Weapon attack reversal: 9 (-1) Momentum rate clean/dirty reaction: 11 (+1) Momentum rate attacks: 8 (-2) Momentum rate taunts: 11 (+1) Stamina rate: 8 (-2)

I find it odd that the CPU is only Hard and usage is turned down. And I can never reverse finishers.

Why would you want the computer to reverse more? Thats not a good match thats just annoying. Seriously THQ needs to have it to when its on Legend its actually really hard, not just them reversing every other move...

I created a couple of Managers today 'Papa Lazaro'(Based on a character from a British Comedy series) and 'Lord Vlad' (Looks like Marlyn Manson's accountant).
And it got me thinking. It would be great in the next game that they had more manager controls. Like if you have a stored finisher you could get your manager throw salt at your opponent or something when your in a submission or pinning attempt. And it would be cool if the manager followed the action instead of just standing in near the corner. So if you are getting pinned near the ropes the manager would grab your leg and put it on the rope. Or if your pinning someone near the ropes your manager would hold onto the legs like Heenan at Wrestlemania V.

It took me a long time, but I finally got his stats maxed out. Had to restart the season to try the other storylines outside of the title picture. Using the AJ Styles preset move set, I had one hell of an ultimate submission match with Kurt Angle. There was a lot of tapping out towards the end. Where I got toasted was an Elimination Chamber match where I had a CAW that I had made, The Undertaker, Hulk Hogan, Umaga, The Great Khali, And Triple H. Unfortunately I had a go around with the Samoan Bulldozer that left me pretty weak, and then it was down to me and Khali, who took me out with The Brain Chop.

I had a great 50-minute Money in the Bank ladder match with me and my brother vs. 4 other guys. Khali was involved, and me and my brother had a field day with him. When we were done, we broke at least 10 chair each, 6 tables, 4 sledgehammers, and sent him though the announcer's table with the leap of faith and a sweet SSP. It was awesome.

I have had problems numerous times trying to get a good match out of the ai. Setting the sliders doesn’t help that much imo. The biggest issue in the game bar none is the overselling (is that the right term?). Anyway as a guy who like to put on epic matches I know how hard it is to get something good out of the ai. You can prolong the match by giving the ai openings and trying to even up the damage. You might be able to get a 10-15 minute match but when you get in the red you can get pinned with a clohtesline . The bet matches I had were ironman, last man standing, and the assorted multi-man matches; anything where it is harder to get pinfalls. I kind miss the blatant no selling from 06 ;D

Godz would be proud. *tear of joy* Seriously, though, what posesses some of these people to submit CAWs? Well, in his defence... "Vader was bloody difficult to do, so please take into account when rating." DAMN THOSE COLD-HEARTED INTERNETS! Okay, I'm going to trawl through the worst CAWs on the site now. EDIT: Done! Why yes, that IS supposed to be American Bad Ass Undertaker! Thanks for asking! This is Simon Dean. This is why it's a good thing to write your CAW's name on his back. This is made by face specialist Korn is raw, a man who "makes Caw Face's so u dont have to " It is Carlito Caribbean Cool.

That site has gone downhill. What do you get on there, 72 jeff hardys, 15 CM Punks, a Nigel Mcguinness and Jimmy Jacobs caws with no movesets, a moveset for Necro Butcher but no caw, dozens of caws based on wrestlers that are already in the game, two complete movesets for teddy hart but none for vader, dozens of movestes for wrestlers already in the game with the vast majority of them being finishers ONLY!!!!!!!!. to make matters worse if you want to scour the forums looking for unposted formulas you get dozens of requests for Kevin thorne and Kelly kelly caws answered while requests for well known indy wrestlers or even wwe legends get unheeded.
