I was always a Bam Bam mark. He WAS my favourite big man wrestler, easily in my top 10 favourites, and IMO he WAS the best big man ever. I said this several times before he died, too. Mike Awesome, though he made a bad decision morally in going to WCW from ECW, and bad for his career, I still loved his ring work. He should have had a title run in one of the Big 2, as he was agile and could work pretty well. But there is a lot of bandwagon-deaths cases.
And please tell me, is Bam Bam's death definitely a murder? Please tell me, I am hoping it isn't as that would just be terrible.

Whenever this comes up you always get somebody saying Owen Hart was just a midcarder & people like to think he's better than he really was because he died but fans like me don't care that he wasn't a main event guy, he was one of the best wrestlers in the world & revolutionized the junior heavyweight style along with other guys. Take Dean Malenko as an example, he's alive & well, he was never a main event guy & yet he's a legend among fans like myself for his ability & great matches he put on all over the world.

I agree although this is a touchy subject. The main person Ive seen this with on this site is Tenta. He seemed like an awesome, nice, inspirational guy, but for his actual in ring performance deserves nowhere near what hes been getting.
I guess thats fine thou, ifs thats the way people like to honor their fallen heroes, more power to them.....

I totally agree. I swear, if someone like Trevor Murdoch was to die, the sites would be full of people saying "He was my favourate ever".... "One of the greatest".... "Should have been world champion" etc etc. the good ol' death bandwaggon eh? Not to jump off topic, but Murdoch is one of my favorites. So if he were to pass away, which hopefully he doesnt in the near future. You would be hearing my thoughts on him being good in the ring.

I look at the deaths by a case by case basis. I look at Eddie's death. It was known that he did drugs, possibly steroids and other stuff that hurt his body, causes of heart failure. Preventable. And long term use of that stuff causes heart failure, so I'm not too saddened by it. Owen's death. He fell. Not his fault, no control. Very sad and tragic. Awesome's death. From what I heard it was a suicide. I'm not about to feel bad for him, if he wanted to leave he got his wish. Bigelow's. A murder. Very sad/tragic. I really don't come onto message boards to talk about stuff like this though. I keep my feelings to myself. I come here to talk about wrestling...and maybe other stuff in off topic. But mostly wrestling. Are you sure Bigelow was murdered? Yeah, has this been confirmed? I really want to believe it wasn't murder.

1. Who says Bigelow was murdered?
2. Death has never changed my opinion of someone. I loved watching Eddie Guererro, but maintain he is not a "legend" nor should he have been rushed into the HoF. I've always been a huge Mike Awesome fan, as I believe I ranked him in my top 10 out of 25 in bighead's Top 50 Wrestlers thread...two weeks before his death. Of course, Awesome should not go into the WWE HoF either, unless they designate an ECW wing, and even then, I'm not sure.
3. They aren't "TV characters" who die, they are people. This isn't Forrest Gump dying, it's Tom Hanks.
4. I had a 4, but I forgot it.
5. Oh yes. I do like Trevor Murdoch, actually. Doubt I'd cry if he died but I'd be like "Damn, that really, really sucks."

I agree, because I was upset when Bam Bam, Hawk, Pillman, Perfect and Mike passed, but I didn't give two craps when Owen and Bulldog died. Sure it sucks, but I never cared about them.

Yeah, I'm not going to make myself care. I cried when Owen, Perfect, Quake, and others died. When Chris Candido went, whom I was never a fan of, well sure, it's sad any time someone dies like that....but it didn't ruin my day, or even my hour. Does that make me a bad person? No, IMO, the bad people are the attention seeking bandwagon jumpers who want to fit in and ride the death train. Ah yes, thats why I stopped watching Smackdown. Thanks, Rey!

I still say they need to go all out and give Eddie's corpse a "Weekend at Bernie's" gimmick.

IMO, the bad people are the attention seeking bandwagon jumpers who want to fit in and ride the death train. Precisely. I bet there are a great number of people who posted in the "RIP Bam Bam" & "RIP Awesome" threads who never really cared much for either man but saw that everyone else did it & decided to follow suit.

Only if it's Rey that digs him up and looks like a pathetic psychopath, trying to puppeteer Eddie to get everyone's love and attention, and it melts into a horrific Al Snow/Head relationship...... god I cant believe I even typed that. ;D

I get a little sad because they were people who had families and friends. I was really disappointed in Hennig because he had already seen what death of a man does to his family when his childhood friend Rick Rude died.
For me, I don't usually change my opinion of a wrestler because he died. I thought highly of Owen, Hennig, Rude, Candido, Bigelow, Tenta, Eddie, and Pillman before their deaths, so there was nothing to change. I think Spicolli, Hawk, Andre, Bulldog, and Bravo all had their moments, but I don't think my opinion of their work changed after they died, except in Andre's case perhaps.

For me it's a case by case basis. With the recent 'batch' of deaths it is sad because they're more of the guys I DID watch. Not only that but some of them (ie Eddie, Bam Bam) are guys I did enjoy watching. Now lets say Bruno Sammartino passed away, I highly doubt I'd feel the same as those already mentioned.
As for Awesome, I never really saw much of the guy wrestle. Thus no "attachment" to the guy. However, what I did see I enjoyed.
