Bobby Lashley vs Mr Kennedy: ECW World title
It has been "reported" that Vince has an extreme hard-on for Lashley and wants to build him up as a huge (not a steroid joke) star.
Kennedy has a good deal of momentum on his side too, despite having been a jobber to main eventers as of late. I know Undertaker and Batista have whipped up on him, but that's the World title program. Does anyone really look at Bobby "eat em up" Lashley's championship in the same regard as the World title or WWE title scene? I can understand why right now Kennedy wouldn't be in the WWE or World title picture with guys like Batista, Undertaker, Cena, and HBK building toward Wrestlemania.. but if he loses Sunday, does that mean he can't compete in a main event consisting of guys like Hardcore Holly and Snitsky?
Also, Vince has shown some promise as of late, building up ECW with the new breed vs old school feud, actually showing up on the program to push things, "reportedly" wanting to try to get ECW on par with the other shows or giving up on it altogether.
The following is simply MY IDEA, others may or may not agree with me. I don't fantasy book, but I could easily see something like the following happening: Lashley loses to Kennedy on Sunday, freeing up the ECW world title program for Wrestlemania and allowing Lashley to be involved with the Trump/McMahon feud (you know it's gonna happen.) From there, Kennedy could work with someone else, who like himself, is currently not in a high profile feud for Wrestlemania, such as the new breed stuff. Sh**, what's that guy's name again? CD Punt? MC Pink? Anyway.. quite possibly the show stealer right there(from a "I was really shocked and impressed with" standpoint).
I don't know, I guess I have hope that they'll actually give me a reason to care about ECW's main event scene instead of watching Lashley vs Test for the ECW title or Lashley vs Holly for the ECW title.. or actually, Lashley vs anyone for the ECW title ever again.
