Alright I'm watching the new "Extreme Rules" DVD, and I'm wondering just what the heck they were thinking when they picked some of these matches.
I just watched The Eliminators versus The Gangsters and the crowd was booing practically the whole match, there were several we want wrestling, this match sucks, and even a we want flair chant.
...what gives ?
It's starting to feel like they picked some not so amazing matches to fill a best of DVD on purpose.

I haven't seen the DVD yet, but which Gangstas Vs. Eliminators match did they put on there? They had a pretty entertaining cage match, but I remember people tiring of the Gangstas pretty quickly by the end of 1997, when the team split up. The Eliminators were always solid in ECW by my memory, so the hostile crowd must have been sparked by anti-Gangstas sentiment.

I thought the Gangstas VS Elliminators match was pretty. It ain't the best match on the DVD, but I liked it.

I'm pretty sure I have that match on one of the ECW DVDs/videos released before the company went under, I don't remember the crowd acting like that. Then again I haven't watched it in quite some time, and odds are Natural Born Killas was playing the entire time anyway. Or maybe I'm thinking of a completely different match. Either way I'm pretty sure I liked it.

Yeah, the odds are Natural Born Killas was playing the entire time, so the geniuses at WWE looped crowd sounds, not making sure it made sense.

They weren't chanting "We Want Wrestling", there were chants of "Where's the Weapons?". The only one that I clearly heard was "We Want Flair."
THe match was ok, but the ending was tremendous.

what pissed me off was disc 2, on all the ECW Sci FI matches they cut away at all the commercial breaks, i dotn get it if WWE keeps the cameras rolling why cant they include the maches in their entirety.

It can't be worse than the Gangsta's/Public Enemy match from that 2nd ECW DVD. That might be the most horrible match I've ever seen.

I wondered about that with the Owen Hart tribute match with Bret and Benoit. Schiavone clearly says they are recording even though they`re about to got to commercials so the fans won`t miss it. Then the match cuts 2 3 or 4 minutes later. I don`t know why they couldn`t add it onto the DVD.

Here's an observation I'm surprised no one's mentioned.
Sandman vs. Cactus Jack...anyone notice that Cactus Jack comes out to his "Mr. Bang Bang" song from the WCW days?
I noticed that and thought "Jeezus, they could have put his WWE Cactus music...BUT THE DAMN MR. BANG BANG SONG?!?!?!"

There's some bizarre choices on Disc 1, i wouldn't have put the Tables Ladders Chairs and Canes 4 way on there, it's an ok match but there's a ton better from around that period of ECW, absolutely anything off of Heat Wave 2000 would have done, Jerry Lynn vs. Steve Corino especially, but i guess they want to select stuff with guys in the company rather than promote outsiders.
The Gangstas match is a good one, The Gangstas in general i always thought were entertaining, not the best technicians but that was never the point.

Corino/Lynn would be a kick ass choice (loved the visual of Jerry writing DIE in Corino's blood, then hitting the cradle piledriver), as well as the match that made Corino more than just a comedy act with Dusty. Hell, why not anything involving the early days of Bubband and D'-von. The crowd reaction to the promos alone would be considered "extreme rules". Or for that matter, anything from the Raven/Dreamer feud (cage match, perhaps?), or maybe even the New Jack/Baldies subway fight that kinda got a little out of hand.
