I've gotta go with the KOTR 1993 one. I think it was a better technical match.
Plus Perfect didn't have that goddamn "trainer" at KOTR.

Summerslam
It was a great match, plus Kurt did it with a knackered back.

The one at Summerslam is my favorite match of all time. It got me hook as a Bret Hart mark at the age of 7.

Gotta go with Summerslam. It's deep within my personal "Golden Age" of the WWF (1989-late 1992) and just everything else about it - the environment, the crowd, the commentators, the fact Perfect put on a 5-star match despite being really hurt.........wrestling really didn't get much better than that very often.

Their KOR match was great but I got to go with the one from SummerSlam. It was great, exciting, and entertaining as hell!

Anyone else ever notice how fast Hebner goes for the bell at Summerslam 1991? It was before Bret even really applied the SharpShooter....anyways.........
Summerslam 1991.....Hennig did a lot for Bret by putting him over even with a back injury that would've put most out of action. If the match at KOTR '93 was in the finals, it would've been more of a classic. I always thought those two shoulda headlined a Wrestlemania with the WWF title on the line.
Tell me Wrestlemania 9 wouldn't have benefitted if it had Hart vs. Perfect for the title, and maybe Hogan vs. Yoko as a double main event.

I honestly love them both a lot, but I'll vote for KOTR seeing as it's the underdog of this thing.

They are both awesome matches, but I will go with the Summerslam match for several reasons.
1. It was for the IC title back when winning it was special 2. Perfect's back was in bad shape 3. The commentary team of Monsoon/Piper/Heenan was great 4. The match signified that Bret had made it as a singles wrestler

King of the Ring 93.
Don't get me wrong...their Summerslam match was great and an historic and epic encounter. But you could tell Hennig wasn't at 100% with his back.
Also consider the fact that at KOTR, Hart and Hennig had already wrestled one match prior so you could argue neither man was at 100%. Still, great stuff!

KOTR
It was fast, crisp and pretty much perfect.
By listening to the commentary it sounded like JR was marking out the whole way through.
