The Rogue Horsemen was my favourite version of Pillman. Him being a complete lunatic whilst mentor Double A tried to control him and stop him getting in the face of supposed allies The Dungeon of Doom week after week was great. Plus this time was when the Loose Cannon persona first started.

Sad that the Yellow Dog saga gets no mention on the Loose Cannon DVD.
Unless it's mentioned in a easter egg.

Pillman in ECW didn't last very long at all, but everything there was pure gold.

I'm going to say ECW Pillman, simply due to the awesomeness of his debut.

WWF Pillman...with the Rogue Horseman as a close second. I absolutely loved Pillman as Jim Ross' color commentator on Shotgun Saturday Night.

The Rogue Horsemen. Brilliant stuff, and the beginning of my lifelong Pillman markdom.

Great thread! This is hard to pick because anything he did from fall 95-97 was gold imo. His horsemen run was great and saw him become the loose cannon, his ecw run was awesome just too short, and he was also awesome and nuts in his wwe run. Very hard to pick...also the Hollywood Blonds owned

I voted for WWF Pillman, because I never really saw any other version of him. I saw a *bit* of "Rogue Horseman" I think, but it's too vague and blurry in my mind to actually vote for it.

He was one of those few guys that was genuinely unpredictable. There were rumors going around at the time that he was really going crazy. Only Piper in his prime was more convincingly scary.

He was one of those few guys that was genuinely unpredictable. There were rumors going around at the time that he was really going crazy. Thats what's so incredible about Pillman, nobody knew what he was doing. The fact that nobody has tried to re-do this angle (when almost everything in wrestling get's recycled) says it all.

I'd say the Horseman version because he was still physically able to have great matches plus the Loose Cannon gimmick started then too. IMO this is when Pillman had it all, from the awesome ability to the great character. Damn! That makes me sick thinking how big he could have been if it wasn't for the car accident!

1996-1997 WWF. It's when I first saw him and when I first marked for him.

Through a series of odd circumstances I missed every single Pillman run except his brief ecw one. So ill go with that.
