Sting is to me, was WCW's franchise more then Flair. From the NWA days till the last Nitro, Sting was there. Undertaker is the heart and soul of WWE, but when I think WCW I think Sting, When I think of WWE/WWF I think of Hogan, Hart, Michaels, Austin, Rock... and now Cena. Taker has been there longer then any of them, never left, and always been over. But Taker has never been the guy that WWE stood for.

Taker's had a level of loyalty that I've only otherwise ever seen in HHH and HBK. He could've been a huge player in WCW when everyone else was jumping ship. He stayed with the WWF even when it was on the verge of collapsing. Sting was the same way, but retired right when WCW was going down the tubes.

Sting, because he also carried WCW for a long time.
UT to me was more the foundation of the WWE, the guy to fall back on if things went wrong. Same with Bret Hart.
But Sting was always one of the faces of WCW also to the outside. When I see Sting, I think WCW.

I think Sting has to take the nod in this one, although you could never dispute either man's loyalty. I go for Sting for the simple reason that he never worked for WWE, where as Taker did work for WCW before the Taker character was born in WWE.

I have to say Sting is the bigger franchise player simply because he was one of WCW's first employees after they split from the NWA and he stayed there until WCW shut it's doors. Granted, that isn't nearly as long as 'Taker's been with WWE, but I really don't think that is the point.
If you ask someone to name a big name in WWE, you will hear a lot of names, and you may not hear the Undertaker's name amongst them. If you ask someone the same question except about WCW, you will almost certainly hear Sting's name mentioned.
But, that's just my opinion. I could be wrong.

Gooood question.
I ultimately had to go with Mark because the temptation to jump to WCW had to be greater for him than for Steve to go to WWF/E

They've never built WWE around the Undertaker.
WCW was built around Sting even until the end of the promotion.
Undertaker is the foundation of WWE.
He is the heart and soul of WWE, the premiere big man, and in general one of the best wrestlers of all time a certified legend.
