Credit: www.wrestlezone.comVito's dress wearing character has been dropped. His match with Mr. Kennedy on SmackDown two weeks ago was the blow off for the character. He's currently down in Deep South Wrestling awaiting a new repackaging. He's the DSW champion and he doesn't wear a dress anymore to the ring. He now wears martial arts-style trunks and goes shoeless to the ring. |

He must have started getting over.
I predict in a month we'll have WWE wishing him the best on his future endeavors.

Either way, he got the character over and just like "Love Machine" Viscera got too much attention. We can't have the "wrong" guys get cheered. Right?

To be fair - when they announced he'd be in Playgirl the gimmick's lifespan was immediately shortened...

It wasn't really a gimmick that was going anywhere, it allowed Vito to show he could work and now i guess WWE are going to go down an MMA gimmick with him instead, at least that's how it sounds in his appearence

I wonder... They might give the belt to Kofi Kingston when Vito gets called back up. The guy is majorly over in the DSW Arena, and was even back when he was just a jobber. Sure, he's a bit on the small side, but I think it could work.

Ok to be honest his heat was killed the day Taker replaced him for the first SD! on the CW network.

Look, this wasn't done because Vito was getting more pops than Undertaker, Stone Cold, Bret Hart and Hulk Hogan combined. This was done because the dress gimmick wore out its welcome. The idea that the WWE scrapped a gimmick because it was "too over" is ridiculous. Why would you get rid of something if it was making money? And think of Vito in this situation. Not only did the guy wear a dress to the ring night in and night out for almost a year, he had to wear it in public, too. I bet that got old in a hurry. Let him hang down in DSW for awhile, get a new gimmick, then come back up. But then we all know he'll be way too over, and WWE will fire him. |

They'll repackage him in a gangster gimmick (the Double Double E LOVES the stereotyping) and if it fails, he'll be headed out the door.
